The Girl They Ignored Returned as the Woman Seven Men Would Die For novel Chapter 8

Even though Jude had agreed to the plan, the mere thought of Mika's dark, acne-scarred face was enough to make his stomach turn.

A wave of intense irritation flared in his chest.

"I know."

He gritted his teeth and looked over, but the moment his eyes landed on Mika's face, he froze.

The repulsive, cratered face he had braced himself for was nowhere to be found.

Instead, he was looking at a slightly rounded but incredibly clean, soft profile.

Weight aside, Mika's actual facial structure leaned toward a striking, cool-girl edge.

Her dark, expressive almond eyes looked up at him. Her pale lips, devoid of any lipstick, were pressed together in a cold, indifferent line.

Yet somehow, it gave her an aura of clean, unapproachable defiance.

The acne that had plagued her seemed to have vanished overnight, and her skin was no longer that muddy brown, but a warm, radiant ivory.

Looking at her now...

She was actually remarkably easy on the eyes.

The inexplicable irritation in his chest vanished. Feeling suddenly awkward, Jude averted his gaze and shoved the bouquet of roses into Mika's arms.

"Since everyone is here, let's head inside."

A waiter led the four of them to a reserved table.

Seeing the romantic candlelight and the elegant cake already set up, Xanthe tugged on Lily's sleeve in shock.

"Is Jude actually serious about this? He booked this insanely expensive place and even arranged all this!"

Watching Jude pull out a chair for Mika without even glancing at Seraphina, Lily frowned in deep confusion.

"This is so weird. Does Jude have some kind of ugly fetish?"

Seraphina naturally sensed the drastic shift in Jude's attitude.

But she maintained her soft, gentle smile, showing no outward reaction.
