The Girl They Ignored Returned as the Woman Seven Men Would Die For novel Chapter 82

With a press of the gas pedal, Quincy brought Mika straight to the entrance of Cloudcrest Manor.

He didn't just leave her in the lobby. Instead, he led her directly toward the equestrian track to find Lucas.

But when they reached the stables, Lucas was nowhere to be found. Instead, the staff member in charge of feeding the horses came running over, looking absolutely miserable.

"Arthur, where's Lucas?" Quincy asked the worker with a casual posture and a warm smile.

Yet, Mika could faintly detect that this warmth was merely the effortless, approachable facade of someone in power.

"Mr. Lancaster tore his stitches just now. He went into the villa with a Ms. Sutton to have the private doctor bandage him up," Arthur rubbed his hands together, his weathered face showing clear signs of panic.

"Tore his stitches?" Quincy's smile slowly faded. "Wasn't he just lying out in the sun? How did he tear them?"

Too afraid to hide anything, Arthur spilled the entire story from beginning to end.

Now, the gentle aura surrounding Quincy vanished completely. His calm tone carried a heavy edge of interrogation.

"Why would a perfectly good horse suddenly go crazy? Did you fail to lock the stables properly?"

"Sometimes when I'm constantly going in and out, I find it a hassle, so occasionally I forget to lock up. It's... it's never been an issue before. Who knew that today of all days..."

"I'll deal with you later."

Seemingly mindful of Mika's presence, Quincy refrained from losing his temper on the spot. When he turned back to Mika, he resumed his gentle, polite tone.

"Shall I take you to the villa to see him first?"

Mika was still turning Arthur's words over in her mind. After a moment of thought, she suddenly looked up. "Quincy, are there security cameras around the track?"

She couldn't shake the feeling that this was no mere coincidence.

The 'Ms. Sutton' was undoubtedly Seraphina.

According to Arthur, he had been resting in his office when Seraphina noticed the horse stampeding toward Lucas and immediately ran to the office for help.

And when Lucas was angry, Seraphina even spoke up for him.
