Tessa got up and left the coffee shop, watching Matthew step into the elevator about 60 feet away. She just stood by the road, feeling anxious.

She took out her phone and dialed the same number that had been going unanswered. The phone kept ringing, but no one picked up.

Tessa felt restless. She didn't hang up until she was sure no one was picking up. Then, she muttered, "What the hell! Are they dead? Why aren't they answering?"

Passersby heard her cursing and looked at her with a frown.

Upon seeing this, Tessa climbed into the back of the car and leaned back against her seat. She stared out of the window at the entrance of Gembrooke Building.

Matthew made his way through the office area on the sixth floor, heading straight for Emily's lab. Just as he reached the door, he heard her flipping out.

He felt like he showed up at a bad time. Emily was usually easygoing and barely ever lost her cool, but she actually snapped at that moment. He couldn't help but wonder who had pissed her off.

Nevertheless, Matthew bit the bullet and walked into the lab, only to find Emily yelling at a man. The man was facing away, so he couldn't tell who the man was. He didn't want to get in the way, so he just stood off to the side and waited.

Emily scolded in disappointment, "Are you a pig?"

Mathew didn't expect Emily to say something like that. She was typically so refined and polite, but she sounded really harsh at that moment.

The man lowered his head and didn't say a word. Upon seeing this, Emily's anger flared up. "I'm talking to you. Are you ignoring me on purpose?"

The man stayed quiet because he knew he was at fault.

Emily suddenly raised her volume. "I'm getting old, and I can already feel the reaper coming for me. I won't just let my life slip by without any accomplishments. Stop bothering me already. Why are you still standing here? Get lost!"

The man hummed in acknowledgment and started walking off.

When the man turned around, Matthew immediately realized who he was. "Professor Brewer?"

It turned out it was actually Sonny. He stuck around to work on the mechanical exoskeleton research because of Emily. Unlike the last time Matthew saw him, he wore a wig that day.

From behind, Sonny looked nothing like the bald scientist Matthew remembered.
