The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 317

Both Gideon and Jacqueline were disabled, so Jacques, the instigator of all these troubles, couldn't possibly be at peace.

Reacting quickly, Celine hurriedly shielded Jacques with her body.

But she was silenced by Finnegan, who sealed her mute acupoint. Despite her continuous attempts to speak, not a single sound could be emitted.

Jacques pleaded anxiously, “Celine, you must protect me!”

He was adopted by Marisol when he was in his teens, and he knew that his status was far inferior to that of Jacqueline and Gideon.

Now that even Jacqueline and his group had been taken down by Finnegan, he believed that Finnegan would not hesitate to make a move against him.

Finnegan strolled over, and with a hardened heart, Celine knelt before him, bowing her head.

At that time, Tyrone did not make a move, and Alisha was even less likely to lend a hand.

She was just an ordinary old woman, so all she could do was beg for mercy.

However, Finnegan simply ignored her and walked straight past her.

Startled, Celine quickly clung onto Finnegan's legs.

Finnegan frowned. “Do you really think I wouldn't hit an elder?”

With a slight shake of his legs, a surge of hidden strength knocked Celine back.

Standing before Jacques, a cold murderous intent flickered in Finnegan's eyes as he said, “I never understood why so many people despise those who suddenly come into power. After meeting you, however, I finally get it. People like you are truly disgusting!”

Gone was whatever arrogance Jacques previously had.

“I was wrong for relying on others for my own gain! please spare me!” he pleaded.

Finnegan harbored only murderous intent towards people like Jacques.

He clearly understood how ruthless a person like Jacques could be, rising from the bottom and gaining power.

However, Finnegan wouldn't kill him in front of everyone in broad daylight.

Instead, he seized him, focused his spiritual energy in his eyes as he peered into Jacques' body and saw his internal organs.

Upon seeing the liver, Finnegan discovered that Jacques had a mild case of liver disease.

“For someone with end-stage liver cancer, it seems there's no need for me to teach you a lesson. You might only have a month left to live!” he said coldly.

As Finnegan spoke, he transferred half of the negative energy into Jacques's body, targeting his liver.

A jolt of realization hit Jacques, and suddenly, he felt a chill permeating his entire body.

Before he could react, Finnegan had already thrown him to the ground. Dusting off his hands, he turned around and said, “Get lost!”

Celine was taken aback.

Jacques has end-stage liver cancer?

But there wasn't time to think too much about it now. Celine motioned with her mouth and hands, instructing others to carry Jacqueline and the rest to the hospital.

Only then did Shaun and the others come over, “Way to go, Finn! You're my number one idol from now on!”

With a smile, Finnegan gave them all a kick. “All right, enough with the flattery. Tell Mr. Magnussen and the others to come out and do what they need to do. I'll be leaving now!”

Only after they had left, did Finnegan bring Alisha to the backyard.

Hailey swiftly brought over the coffee.

After she left, Alisha said resentfully, “You really let her stay? Do you prefer such shameless women?”

Finnegan took a small sip of his coffee. “Who would willingly choose to be a shameless woman from the start, if given the choice? Besides, no one ever said that a shameless woman couldn't change.”

With a soft huff, Alisha decided not to dwell on this issue any longer.

“Why didn't you use the Martial Arts Alliance's South-North Badge earlier?”

“Indeed. In the future, I will ensure that my enemies won't even have the courage to hire assassins!”

On the other side, upon receiving the news, Leonardo reported every detail to Tyrone.

“Finnegan might be in serious trouble this time. He actually crippled the son of Josef.”

However, Tyrone didn't show much excitement. Instead, he furrowed his brows, weighed down by heavy thoughts. “I thought the same when Seamus and his father Wilson were initially defeated, but what happened in the end?”

Oswald, who had successfully broken through Terra Realm, personally arrived in Jadeborough to settle scores with Finnegan.

In the end, Finnegan survived, while Oswald had already been reduced to ashes.

As if that wasn't enough, he even bore the stigma of being abandoned by the Martial Arts Alliance.

Leonardo asked, “What do you mean, Mr. Calandrino?”

With a weary expression, Tyrone waved his hand dismissively and said, “Finnegan is neither a madman nor a fool. If he dared to ruin Gideon, it shows he's fearless. So, as we discussed earlier, let's focus on the power struggle between the Wahlstrom family and the Zymons family. We should ignore Finnegan for now!”

He was unaware of any unknown backgrounds and capabilities that Finnegan might have had.

But from the time things started with the Chomsky family up until now, Finnegan was still alive. This clearly indicated that Finnegan was not to be trifled with.

He paused before saying, “Also, give Celine a call to comfort her. We really had no other choice.”

“Understood!”

Quickly after arriving at the hospital, Celine received a call from Leonardo.

But after several attempts to speak, she found herself unable to utter a word. So, she hung up the phone and sent Leonardo a message: I know you want to explain, but there's no need. I understand that this is the Wahlstrom family's intention.

Afterwards, she no longer cared about anything else, urging the doctor to quickly treat Gideon and his group. She also sought out a doctor to find out why she had lost his ability to speak.

After conducting a thorough examination, the doctor said he couldn't determine the cause, suggesting it might have just been a temporary loss of voice.

Left with no other choice, Celine could only return to the waiting area outside the operating room in despair, all while contemplating how to report this matter to Marisol and what should be done.
