The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 320

In the old governor’s residence, resided the Wahlstrom family.

A convoy of seven to eight vehicles discreetly made its way in, coming to a halt in front of the main building.

At the entrance, in the depth of the night, the sleepless Theoden, accompanied by a few members of the Wahlstrom family and Spencer, stepped forward to meet them.

The car doors swung open in unison, and one by one, men dressed in black, exuding an aura of icy sternness, stepped out.

They skillfully dispersed, intentionally guarding the car in the middle.

Only then did the door of the car open, and out stepped a young man. He was tall and upright, his handsome features radiating a strikingly gallant aura.

He walked over and opened the rear car door. “Grandpa, we've arrived!”

A foot stepped out from within.

It was an elderly man, who was nearly ninety yet showed no signs of aging, with a stern countenance and a hawk-like nose.

Upon seeing him, Theoden, Spencer, and the others couldn't help but stiffen a bit.

That was because the man standing before them was Norman, the underworld king of Jipsdale, the strongest in Jacaster.

Norman turned back to look at Theoden, a meaningful smile appearing on his stern face. “It's been six or seven years since we last met, Theoden. It seems your spirit has only improved.”

With a calm demeanor, Theoden gestured with his hand and said, “Norman, please come in.”

Although Theoden controlled the underworld of the five states, he seemed no less powerful than Norman, who had firmly established his influence over two states along Jacaster.

But in reality, the wise ones knew well that Norman, who had established his roots in the Jipsdale, was no less formidable than Theoden.

Due to Jipsdale's position in Loang, as well as the status of the two states of Jacaster within Loang, Norman's strength was inevitable.

Not to mention, before he made a name for himself, he was working under Norman.

Norman turned his head and said, “Skylar, you all stay outside. I'll have a chat with Old Mr. Wahlstrom.”

Skylar Dunn responded, “Yes!”

Subsequently, Norman walked over there all by himself.

Theoden had cleared the main road for him.

However, as he turned to the side, he caught sight of another person in the corner of his eye, seated right next to where Norman had just been.

A slight tremor resonated in Theoden's heart. Why is he here as well?

Soon, the car door closed. Theoden composed himself and signaled others not to follow. He walked alone with Norman, passing through the front hall to reach the backyard.

The housekeepers had already prepared coffee for the men.

With courtesy, Theoden said, “Norman, please have a seat!”

Norman waved his hand with a smile. “Theoden, we are buddies, after all. You are still the king of the underworld in the five states. There's no need to be so formal with me.”

As he spoke, he took a seat.

Only then did Theoden sit down, pouring a cup of coffee and sliding it forward. “Norman, it's been almost twenty years since your last visit to Nuthana. I thought you would never come again in this lifetime.”

Norman picked up his cup, saying with profound meaning, “I truly don't wish to wander around anymore. After all, I am of such an age now. But alas, I had no choice but to come!”

At that point, he gave Theoden a profound look.

Theoden sighed lightly. “You're here for the two children adopted by Marisol, aren't you?”

Norman took a sip of his coffee and said, “Tell me, who exactly is this young man? He must be someone special to earn your unwavering support. Also...”

Pausing, a trace of solemnity flashed in his eyes. “What kind of background does he have that allows Josef to disregard even my dignity and let go of the grudge for his son's ruin?”

What? Theoden's pupils suddenly contracted. “Is Jacqueline your biological granddaughter? Is she not an orphan adopted by Marisol?”

Theoden knew Norman would not lie about such matters, and there was no need to.

With a bitter smile, Theoden couldn't help but say, “Norman, you should have told me earlier.”

If he had known that Jacqueline was the biological granddaughter of Norman and Marisol, he would have definitely instructed Alisha to pay special attention to her.

Perhaps that could have prevented the events that occurred during the day.

Norman said, “There's no point in discussing this any further. Tell me, who exactly is that young man? Can he truly cure Marisol?”

Theoden discerned the hidden meaning in Norman's words. His gaze was slightly hardened. “Norman, I beg your pardon, but I cannot disclose the origins and background of Dr. Larkin. His past is unspeakable. As for whether he can cure Marisol, that's a certainty! Therefore, whether you want to seek medical help for Marisol or seek revenge for Jacqueline, you must proceed with caution!”

Norman squinted his eyes. “Are you suggesting that I can't handle him?”

Theoden nodded and replied, “Don't provoke him. That's the only advice I can give you!”

Pausing for a moment, he added, “If you insist on not listening, I would even go as far as to become your enemy for the sake of Dr. Larkin!”

Hearing that, Norman cast a deep gaze at Theoden.

Norman then dusted off his sleeves and stood up. “It seems that my decision to see you first in Bellridge was the right one. Now, I'm off to Jadeborough.”

Theoden rose to his feet. “Norman, if we act as though nothing has happened and show absolute respect for Dr. Larkin, perhaps there's still hope for Marisol.”

Pausing his steps, Norman walked away directly, leaving it unclear whether he had taken in what was said or if he hadn't heard at all.

Theoden did not see him off. Instead, he sat back down. “Old friend, I hope you take my words to heart. Otherwise, the Dunn family is in peril!”

A few minutes later, Finnegan also received a text message from Alisha, informing him that Norman had arrived at the Wahlstrom residence.

After reading, Finnegan immediately deleted it.

It seemed as though he didn't care about it that much.
