The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 415

The night was getting deeper and deeper.

Dragon Bay, which was peaceful and serene, had become even quieter, with eighty percent of the lights already turned off.

Mandy's room, however, was still brightly lit despite having its curtains drawn.

In the corner, Mandy looked like an aggrieved woman as she squatted on the ground, teary-eyed and hugging her knees.

The cold, aloof attitude she used to give others was entirely gone.

Finnegan tossed the split cucumber into the trash bin and dusted off his hands, “Ever since that incident with Vilmar, I've warned you and even taught you a lesson. Is your memory that bad, or do you think I'm too easy-going? Several days ago, you gave Rhia a sports car and secretly visited my parents with a handful of gifts. Now, you're calling my mother in the middle of the night... Not even my wife is as diligent as you!”

Mandy lifted her head, only to lower it again as she sobbed softly.

She, without a doubt, felt hurt and wronged.

Growing up, she had always been a proud lady.

However, since she started getting closer to Finnegan at Howard's orders, she had let her pride and dignity be torn to shreds by Finnegan.

Surprisingly, though, she didn't hate him!

Seeing that Mandy wasn't saying anything, Finnegan shouted, “Come here!”

Startled, the woman tightened her grip. “I can't do this anymore. I'll die if we continue,” she muttered before pausing. “If you're still angry, can we continue this tomorrow?”

The corner of Finnegan's mouth instantly twitched.

My goodness... Is there something wrong with this woman? Has she begun to enjoy this treatment?

The next second, he shook his head and said impatiently, “Come here.”

Mandy gritted her teeth and rose to her feet, her calves trembling as she staggered forward and knelt before him. “Go ahead if you want to punish me. In any case, I won't give up. After all... You've already had your way with me!” she exclaimed, seemingly having resigned herself to fate.

Finnegan furrowed his brows. “Don't spout nonsense. I won't admit it. I was merely trying to make you understand what it's like to suffer a double loss!” he scolded before quickly changing the topic. “That said, you won't have the chance even if you want to get close to Rhia or my parents in the future. I plan to send you somewhere.”

“You've gone too far, Finnegan!” Mandy fumed as she lifted her gaze. “Look at the state I'm in. Do you think it's any different from having been played by you? Therefore, don't you dare think about it... I refuse to go anywhere. I'm staying put in Jadeborough!”

“Even if I'm sending you to lead the charge in Durbaine or Jipsdale?”

Mandy immediately furrowed her brows. “Will you take responsibility for me in the future, then?”

“In your dreams,” Finnegan replied firmly.

“In that case, I won't go!”

Upon seeing Mandy acting like a petulant little girl, Finnegan rubbed his temples in exasperation. “It's true that one should never get too familiar with you women!”

Back when Mandy first came looking for me, she was so scared that she knelt outside the hut all day and night without any complaints. But now, she has the guts to talk back to me!

Mandy once again clenched her teeth. “This isn't about familiarity. I'm a young lady, yet you've punished me in this manner on three occasions. How am I supposed to face others in the future? As such, I'm not going anywhere if you refuse to take responsibility. I'll stay right here in Jadeborough.”

“Fine. I'll call your grandfather tomorrow,” Finnegan huffed. “If he doesn't summon you back to Bellridge, it'd mean the end of the friendship between me and the Langdon family.”

Upon hearing that, Mandy jumped to her feet. “Are you a man, Finnegan?”

Finnegan slowly turned around, his expression dark and cold. “The first time I taught you a lesson was because you set me up as a scapegoat and offended Vilmar. The second time was because you almost caused Josephine to be ruined by Vilmar. Was I wrong to punish you on those two occasions?”

As a chill ran down Mandy's spine, Finnegan continued, “This time around, you know full well that Bernice and I are already engaged, yet you still deliberately got close to Rhia and my parents to affect me. Am I supposed to keep indulging you?”

Ha! I'm so good at bluffing!

“Grandpa, Finnegan has trampled on my pride and dignity, and he even wants to send me to Durbaine. How can you call that great news?” Mandy fumed.

“Silly girl,” Howard said as he stopped laughing and analyzed the situation. “If Dr. Larkin is scolding you, it means he still sees you as one of his own. Otherwise, you wouldn't even have the privilege of being scolded by him. Moreover, if you head to Durbaine, you'll have a better chance of winning Dr. Larkin over in the future. Otherwise, you two might truly be destined to be apart!”

Mandy immediately stopped sobbing. “What does that mean?”

Howard lowered his voice and replied, “You'll find out soon enough. When the time comes, you'll be glad you chose to go to Durbaine, so don't be upset anymore. Do as Dr. Larkin instructed and make yourself an indispensable part of his life.”

Soon, Finnegan had returned to Dragon Bay No. 1 Villa.

However, just as he was about to step into the house, he abruptly halted and turned back to gaze at the distant night sky, a deep furrow tangled in his brow.

The next second, spiritual energy swirled and concentrated in his eyes, enhancing his vision.

In an instant, his gaze penetrated the darkness and objects in his line of sight, allowing him to see everything within a five-hundred-meter radius.

Upon seeing Finnegan return, Alisha immediately ran down the stairs and walked out. “Why are you standing at the door without moving?”

Finnegan quickly retracted his enhanced vision and looked away. “It's nothing. My senses might have been wrong. However, you need to remember my instructions—look relaxed on the outside, but stay focused within.”

“But what exactly do you want to do?”

Alas, Finnegan didn't respond again. He merely walked past Alisha, leaving the woman so annoyed that she stomped her foot in frustration.

Meanwhile, in the distance that Finnegan had just scanned, a shadow suddenly darted past like a ghost before stealthily disappearing into an unoccupied mansion.

“No wonder Cameron failed. Over a hundred people are openly and secretly protecting him. Why did he look back earlier, anyway? Could he have noticed me?”

The Blood Moon Assassin had reappeared!
