The Healing Avenger novel Chapter 421

After regaining her senses, Alisha wrapped her hands around Finnegan's neck.

“Just a moment ago, you told me not to persist. Now, what do you want to do? You want me to ask others to step back, right here—”

Ding!

Bang!

Clang!

Before they could finish their conversation, crossbow bolts suddenly rained down on the spot where the two had just been sitting. They embedded themselves into the chairs and table, even knocking over the barbecue grill.

Alisha's beautiful eyes narrowed. Is this an attack?

“Ah!”

Following the echoes of agonizing screams, Alisha quickly reacted, rising to her feet to look around. She saw a rain of arrows descending from the sky. The elite guards of the Wahlstrom family who were stationed around her were under attack.

In just a moment, over ten people had tragically lost their lives.

“What are you still gawking at? Hurry up and go!”

Swiftly, Finnegan grabbed her hand, skillfully dodging the crossbow bolts that were shot their way. After several evasive maneuvers, they found themselves inside the mansion.

In the surrounding darkness of Dragon Bay No. 1 Villa, figures emerged, each clad in black, their faces concealed, holding crossbows in their hands and long swords strapped to their waists.

There were around a hundred of people in total.

They advanced slowly and methodically, using crossbow bolts to suppress the fierce resistance of the Wahlstrom family's elites.

Even those who emerged from the shadows were swiftly subdued by their barrage of arrows.

Alisha watched with seething anger. “F*ck! Where did these people come from?”

As she spoke, she simultaneously prepared to make a call on her phone.

As a result, it was discovered that all surrounding signals had been blocked.

“This is premeditated!”

With a calm gaze, Finnegan said, “The moment they appeared, they killed so many people without alerting the security at Dragon Bay. Even a fool would know it was premeditated.”

Upon hearing this, Alisha noticed that Finnegan didn't seem surprised at all.

Reflecting on the past couple of days, she recalled how Finnegan had kept her on edge, outwardly relaxed but inwardly tense.

Suddenly, it dawned on her. “You knew all along that we would be attacked? Is that why you had my grandfather and the others leave early?”

“That's right!” Finnegan nodded but didn't go into specifics.

Alisha inquired, “Who exactly are these people?”

“You'll find out soon enough!”

Even at this point, Finnegan still kept Alisha in suspense, which infuriated her. She reached out and grabbed him. “B*stard!”

Finnegan gasped. “D*mn it! Let go! Let go of me now! This is the joy of my life!”

However, Alisha wouldn't let go. “Finny, it's always like this with you. Do you believe that I can tease you until you can't stand it and then not let you in?”

“Ma'am, these are two separate matters. You should let go immediately.”

Feeling the sensation and change in her hand, Alisha laughed softly. “Indeed, the man I, Alisha, have set my eyes on is truly domineering. I believe Bernice alone would absolutely not be able to handle you!”

As she spoke, she finally let go of Finnegan.

Fearing she might come at him again, Finnegan quickly stepped back. “How can you still be in the mood at a time like this?”

Alisha casually shrugged her shoulders. “If you had anticipated an attack all along, then why the need for anxiety?”

She then turned to Finnegan and winked. “So, do you want to go upstairs and exercise a bit? You're quite responsive.”

What a vixen! Finnegan decisively ignored her, turning his gaze toward the outside.

Nearly a hundred attackers steadily advanced, with over half of the elites arranged by the Wahlstrom and Langdon families already suffering losses.

If they were to continue on, it was certain that everything would be ruined.

“Tell them to retreat to the mansion,” Finnegan said.

Alisha also let go of the idea of teasing Finnegan and shouted, “Everyone, retreat into the mansion.”

The ground shattered upon impact, a dense fog enveloping the surroundings.

In an instant, everyone's line of sight was obscured.

This prompted all the attackers to arm themselves with long swords, becoming alert quickly.

And when the dense fog finally cleared, they discovered that Finnegan had somehow managed to take control of the masked leader with a knife held to his throat.

Suddenly, all the attackers who had surrounded him halted their actions. They held back from attacking for fear of hurting the wrong person.

Finnegan gave a faint smile. “So what if there are many of you? So what if you're armed with crossbows? Lay down all your weapons now!”

All the attackers turned their gaze motionlessly toward the masked leader.

The masked leader pondered for a moment before raising his hand. “Lower your weapons.”

“No!”

But it was at this moment that the resentful voice of a woman echoed.

Then, a woman rushed in, her face wild with frenzy. “Now, I want you all to release your arrows and kill Finnegan. Kill him! Otherwise, you will all die!” she demanded.

Inside the mansion, Alisha's face changed when she saw that woman. “Why is it her? Where did they find her?”

It was Sapphire, Bernice's aunt.

Finnegan turned around, unsurprised. “Aunt Sapphire, you were indeed the belle of Jadeborough's nightclubs back in the day. Even now, when you're no longer in your prime, you still have plenty of admirers!”

And like a madwoman, Sapphire charged at the attackers, bellowing, “Kill him now! Do it quickly!”

After a moment of hesitation, the attackers once again drew their bows and nocked their arrows.

Clearly, their leaders' commands couldn't compare to Sapphire's.

Just then, from the previously silent outside, a thunderous battle cry suddenly erupted.

Suddenly, Sapphire spun around, her face instantly turning ashen from the frenzy. “Who are those people?”

With a faint smile, Finnegan said, “Before you try to kill me, you should have checked on Dragon Bay No. 2 Villa!”
