Chapter 843
Shaun had been stuck in meetings all day, completely unaware that Halsey had come looking for him.
His eyes darkened as he glared at Chelsea. “Did you know Lincoln Enterprise was in trouble and deliberately kept Halsey from seeing me?”
Chelsea shook her head quickly. “I had no idea… I can explain…”
Warren tried to speak up for Chelsea. “I don’t think Chelsea did it on purpose-”
But Shaun cut him off without a word, and then stared straight at Chelsea. “Don’t come to my company again. I don’t want to see you here, ever.“1
With that, Shaun turned to his secretary. “Find out where Halsey is right now. And get a car ready immediately. I’m going after her.”
The secretary nodded. “Right away.”
Without hesitation, Shaun sprinted out, determined to find Halsey.
Chelsea froze where she stood, watching helplessly as Shaun chased after Halsey. His heart and mind belonged only to Halsey. And now, Shaun had just told Chelsea that she wasn’t welcome at the company anymore—it was like a harsh slap in the face, leaving her with no dignity at all.
Warren looked at Chelsea with sympathy. “Don’t worry…”
Madeline frowned sharply at him. “Stop defending her!”
Warren looked conflicted. “Chelsea really cares about Shaun. Everything she does is for his good.”
“For his good? Do you even know what my brother really wants?” Madeline argued.
Warren paused. “Well…”
“You know he loves Halsey, but you keep trying to come between them. How is that for his good? I know you consider him a good friend, but you should know that there’s a line. I don’t want you and my brother to fall out over Halsey.”
With that, Madeline turned and left.
Warren called after her, “Maddy…”
Chelsea was furious. She had never expected Shaun’s sister to show up, and she had now offended the latter. Now, with Madeline’s powerful intervention, the fragile harmony between Chelsea and Shaun was shattered; fixing it would be almost impossible.
Why had it come to this?
Chelsea had spent three years by Shaun’s side. She didn’t want to walk away now.
She looked at Warren, desperation in her eyes. “Halsey isn’t right for Shaun. She hurt him once three years ago, and now she’s going to do it again. You have to help me.”
Warren met her gaze, sighing. “I’ve been trying to help, but Shaun’s heart truly belongs to Halsey. As his friend, I can’t interfere too much. I don’t want to lose our friendship because of this.”
With that, Warren walked away.
Chelsea stood frozen, unwilling to let Shaun go. She couldn’t lose im–not like this!
