“What did he want to talk to you about?”

“I… I wanted to ask about your face. Gilbert said he knew what happened. He told me if I met with him, he’d tell me.”

Shaun paused and looked at Halsey. “So you went to see him just to ask about my face?”

“Of course! What else did you think? That guy’s a total creep! He suddenly cut a piece of steak and tried to feed it to me, saying he’d only tell me if I ate it. I didn’t, obviously!“.

Seeing how much she disliked Gilbert made Shaun feel better. So that was what it was.

Shaun looked at her closely. “You really don’t know what happened to my face?“.

But someone grabbed me, shoved me into a car, and threw acid on me. My face was destroyed. Then they drove the car off a cliff, with me still inside,” Shaun said. 1

Halsey gasped, her eyes wide with shock.
