He stripped off his shirt. “Why no, babe?”

Shaun studied her. “Then have the baby. Bella’s adorable. You love kids, so let’s have one. I’d love that too.”

Halsey’s lashes fluttered. “What do you mean, have a baby?”

“Don’t you want to have my baby?”

“Have you ever thought about getting married?”

The question hung in the air.

“You’re quite sharp. And you’re right–I bought the Snowpeak Bloom. So now, the flower you’re looking for is in my hands. What do you say? Interested in meeting up to talk?”

Halsey let out a cold laugh. “Stay right there. I’m coming now.”

She hung up the phone and glanced toward the bathroom. Shaun was still in the shower.

Halsey grabbed a pen and scribbled a quick note. (I’m going out to get something to eat. I’ll be back soon.]

She left the note on the table and walked out of the room.

Before long, Halsey spotted Chelsea waiting for her in the hallway. She stepped forward.

“Looks like you’ve been following us. You seem to know exactly where we are.”

Chelsea smirked. “Of course. Otherwise, how could I have snatched the Snowpeak Bloom out from under you?”

“Where is it?”

Chelsea pulled out a box and opened it. Inside was the pure white Showpeak Bloom.

Halsey immediately reached out. “Give it to me!”

But Chelsea handed the box off to a bodyguard behind her, who walked away with it.

Chelsea smiled. “You saw it, so you know I wasn’t lying.”

Halsey stared at her. “Alright, just say it. What do you want? You took the flower just to make a deal with me, didn’t you?”

Chelsea replied, “You really are straightforward. Since you already know I’m here to negotiate, why bother asking what I want? You should know exactly what I want–I want Shaun.”

Halsey’s heart clenched. Without hesitation, she snapped, “Forget it! I’m not giving him to you!”

Chelsea didn’t say a word.

Halsey continued, “Shaun is a person, not some object you can trade around. Don’t you know that feelings can’t be forced? Shaun isn’t interested in you!”

Chelsea clenched her fists. “That’s only because of you! For three years while you were gone, I was the one by his side. We were doing just fine. But the second you came back, all he could see was you. If you just step aside, I could finally be with him!”

Halsey shook her head. “No! Shaun is the man I love. I won’t give him up to you.”
