The Heartbreak Prescription novel Chapter 918

Chapter 918

Madeline nodded. “Alright. Shaun, why don’t you drive Halsey home later?”

Halsey quickly said, “No need!”

At the same time, Shaun replied, “Sure.”

They both spoke at once.

Halsey glanced across the table at Shaun, wishing she could strangle him.

Breakfast ended under a cloud of awkward silence. Once they finished eating, Halsey got ready to head home.

Just then, a few of Madeline’s female classmates arrived. They all liked Halsey and had come to see her off.

“Halsey, you have to come hang out with us more often,” one of them said.

Halsey smiled. “Sure.”

Then, she realized she hadn’t seen Geneva. Looking around, she asked, “Where’s Geneva? Why didn’t she come?”

Madeline also looked puzzled. “Yeah, where is she?”

One of the girls spoke up. “Oh, she withdrew from school today. She’s been transferred back to her hometown. We won’t be seeing her anymore.”

Geneva was transferred? Just like that?

That was sudden.

At that moment, Shaun walked over. “Time to go.”

Halsey looked up at him. His handsome face was completely unreadable, like Geneva’s departure had nothing to do with him.

But Halsey knew that couldn’t be true. Geneva had gone on a date with him last night. And when he came home after that, he had lost control and forced her into bed.

Something must have happened between them-exactly what, she didn’t know.

Madeline and the girls walked Halsey to Shaun’s luxury car. “Bye, Halsey!”

“Bye,” Halsey replied with a nod.

She moved to open the back door.

However, Shaun pulled open the front passenger door. “Sit in front.”

He wanted her in the front seat.

Halsey believed there were certain boundaries between people. Back when they were dating, the passenger seat was hers. It

made sense then.

Now that they had broken up, Halsey felt that the seat no longer belonged to her. Sitting there didn’t feel right.

Halsey refused. “I’d rather sit in the back.”

Shaun raised a brow. “So I’m just your driver now? In that case, maybe you should find your own ride.”

Halsey was speechless.

Madeline quickly nudged her forward and pushed her into the passenger seat. “Just sit in front.”

Shaun got in and took the driver’s seat.

Halsey waved goodbye to the others. “See you.”

Shaun stepped on the gas, and the car sped off.

The sleek vehicle raced down the road. Shaun kept both hands on the wheel, his eyes focused on the road ahead.
