Chapter 200

Third Person’s POV

Finished

Cassian’s gaze cut through the crowd, locking onto Fred who stood strategically behind a line of pack guards.

Fred didn’t flinch. His eyes were bright with pure provocation. Yeah, I’m the one who called in the Ironthorn reinforcements. Go aheadsee if you can get your old man to ship me off and lock me up again like last time.

Cassian looked down, a heavy silence settling over him for a long beat.

Finally, he turned his head toward Samantha, his voice a flat, emotionless line. Go. Head back.

Samantha looked like she’d just been handed a stay of execution. She started edging toward the exit, her movements small and frantic.

But Howard’s beta, Brooke, stepped forward, his arm forming an immovable barrier. I’m afraid you aren’t going anywhere tonight, Miss Fernandez.

The color drained from Samantha’s face instantly.

Like a cornered prey animal, she shot a pleading, terrified look at Cassian. CassianI’m scared

Cassian glanced at Trista. A flicker of hesitation crossed his face, but thentrue to formhe let go of Trista’s hand again.

He stepped over to Samantha, gripping her wrist right in front of Trista, physically shielding her as he escorted her toward the cars.

Brooke gave a sharp nod. Two rows of Ironthorn guards snapped into formation at the border, cutting off every single exit.

Alpha Cassian,Brooke said, his voice respectful but hard as flint. Howard’s orders were absolute. Miss Fernandez must come with us.

Ten minutes later, on the roadside just outside Shadowfang territory.

Samantha stared at the intimidating line of black SUVs and the sea of armed sleeve, her fingers trembling. Cassian, pleasecan I at least ride in your car?

  1. ds. She grabbed Cassian’s

Trista watched the two of themtheir bodies leaned into each other, their lack of boundaries on full display -and simply turned away, her face a mask of cold indifference.

Wynn immediately stepped up, hooking her arm through Trista’s and pulling her toward a different car. Luna Trista, come with me. Let them have their little moment. Don’t waste your breath on them.”

Without saying a word, Cassian pried Samantha’s hand off his arm. He took a few long strides and grabbed Trista’s wrist again, his grip tight enough to bruise.

Seeing this, Samantha’s panic hit a new high.

She hurried over to them, her voice desperate. Cassian I need to talk to you. Can we have a private word? Please?

Chapter 200

Finlched

She knew exactly how the old man at Ironthorn operatedHoward was as ruthless as they came.

Being summoned by him was never a good sign.

But a part of her saw an opportunity in the chaos.

Now that everyone had seen her and Cassian together, if Cassian stood his ground, she wanted to see if those Ironthorn elders actually had the balls to touch her.

Cassian looked at Trista, then back at Samantha. As long as I’m there, you have nothing to worry about,” he promised.

Brooke supervisor opened the door of the car behind them, his face a wall of professional coldness. Miss Fernandez. Get in.

With no other choice, Samantha braced herself and climbed inside.

Wynn let out a sharp, disgusted snort toward the car. Watch your back, you little tramp. Let’s see how my grandfather handles you.

Then she turned her glare on Cassian. And don’t look at me like that. My mom told me to make her life hell, and I’m just getting started on your tab.

Wynn tried to pull Trista away again, but Cassian’s fingers tightened around Trista’s wrist like steel bands.

A low, bonechilling growl rumbled in his chest. Get in your own car, Wynn,he warned, his voice vibrating with Alpha authority. I need a word with Trista.

Wynn flinched. The air was suddenly thick with the suffocating, aggressive scent of leather and burnt wood -the mark of a toptier Alpha on the verge of a violent break. She scrambled behind Fred for cover.

Fred clapped a hand on Wynn’s shoulder, releasing his own pheromones to counter the pressure.

He gave a dry, mocking laugh. Ignore him. We’ll take the same car.

Fred,Cassian interjected, his voice dark as a thunderhead. This doesn’t concern you. Don’t test my rank.

Fred didn’t back down; his Alpha pride wouldn’t let him. Trista is my friend. Her business is my business. I’m going to be there to watch you pay the price for your arrogance tonight.”

With that, Fred led Wynn straight to the car, a blatant middle finger to Cassian’s territorial claims.

The world went quiet, the air still heavy with clashing Alpha scents.

Both Cassian and Trista looked like they were holding back a storm as they climbed into the back of the lead car.
