The Heartbroken Luna's Choice Banish Love novel Chapter 216

Chapter 216

Third Person’s POV

The second Trista heard Isaiah’s cocky tone, she knew exactly who was on the other end: Cassian.

She reached for the phone, but Isaiah, with that annoying wolf agility, hung up before she could grab it.

Trista rubbed her temples, feeling a massive headache coming on.

She knew Isaiah had a natural problem with auraespecially when it came to a highranking Alpha like Cassianbut she still gave him a stern look. Isaiah, picking up someone’s private calls or going through their phone is a total boundary cross. As your healer, I expect at least a baseline level of respect.”

Isaiah shrugged, his predatory edge softening into a fakeinnocent look. Old habits, I guess. Remind me earlier next time.”

Trista was speechless.

Whatever. At worst, she’d just have another blowout with Cassian later.

Right now, this highprofile client was her top priority.

Her eyes drifted to the bedding. Do you have any dark sheets? These bright colors are going to mess with your neural stability.

Isaiah pointed toward the closet.

Trista dug through it until she found a set of calming, neutraltoned bedding and tossed them onto the mattress. Change these. Get rid of that cheap diffuser on the desk, and turn off that blue backlight on the wall. It’s garbage for your sleep cycle.”

Isaiah grabbed a pillow and sat on the nightstand like a bratty pup. Yeah, I don’t really do housework.

Trista stared him down for a beat before sighing and starting to strip the bed herself.

While she worked, Isaiah just hung back, scrolling through his phone like he didn’t have a care in the world.

Meanwhile, downstairs.

Cassian climbed out of his car, his face like a thundercloud. The pressure radiating from him was so intense that other werewolves in the lobby gave him a wide berth. You’re sure they’re on the eleventh floor?

Humphrey nodded. The records show Isaiah bought the entire floor a few days ago. Also, that supercar in the spot next to yours? That’s his too.”

Go home,” Cassian muttered, already stepping into the elevator.

Just as the doors were closing, Fred slid in.

The two Alphas locked eyes, their pheromones clashing like tectonic plates.

Fred looked away with a disgusted sneer, while Cassian looked ready to commit a felony.

When the elevator hit the 9th floor and Cassian didn’t move, Fred looked back and saw Cassian’s pupils had already narrowed into lethal slits.

The elevator stopped at the 11th, and they both stepped out.

Cassian shot Fred one last get lostlook before slamming his finger onto the doorbell.

Isaiah opened the door and, seeing an enraged Alpha on his doorstep, immediately tried to shut it

Cassian was faster. He jammed his hand into the frame, forcing his way in, with Fred following close behind just to watch the fireworks.

Cassian didn’t say a word. He followed his nose straight to the master bedroom.

When he saw Trista bent over the bed, smoothing out the sheets, he looked like he was about to blow a fuse.

He marched over and snatched the pillow out of her hands.

It’s late,he barked, his voice vibrating with suppressed rage. We’re going back to the ninth floor. Now.

Trista knew this Alpha was at his breaking point.

She didn’t argue. She grabbed her things and prepared to head out.

Before leaving, she couldn’t help but throw in a professional reminder, Isaiah, change that wall light tomorrow. It’s tanking your progress.”

Isaiah tried to block her path. You’re leaving already? My pillowcases aren’t even on.

Cassian leveled a look at Isaiah that was a pure rankbased threat. My mate is your healer, not your maid.

He clamped his hand around Trista’s wrist and dragged her out.

Once they were gone, Fred leaned against the doorframe, a smirk playing on his lips. So, what’s the play? You trying to steal his girl?

Isaiah blinked. What are you talking about?

Fred patted his shoulder, looking genuinely supportive. Hey, man, I’m rooting for you. Take that ice queen’s husband down a peg.”

A few minutes later, back at the apartment. Trista kicked off her heels and poured herself a glass of water.

Cassian stood in front of her, his face dark, clearly struggling not to lose it. I told you I’d pick you up. Why did you leave early?

Trista leaned against the counter and took a slow, deliberate sip of water.

The fire Cassian had been trying to keep under control flared up again.

Why didn’t you call me to tell me you were leaving?

Silence.

Cassian took a sharp breath. Why the hell were you with him in the middle of the night? And why was he answering your private calls?

Trista finally looked up at him, her lips twitching, but she still didn’t say a word.

Cassian’s chest heavedhis wolf was seconds away from taking the wheel. Trista, you’re in another man’s bedroom, making his bed in the middle of the night. Do you have any idea how that looks?

Trista slowly set her glass down.

She looked him dead in the eye. You just dumped about twenty questions on me. Which one do you want me to answer first?

They stood there, locked in a silent war. Cassian’s eyes were practically spitting fire.

Fix your attitude,he reminded her, his voice dropping to a lethal chill. And don’t forget exactly who you are.
