The Heartbroken Luna's Choice Banish Love novel Chapter 302

Third Person's POV

After Samantha left, Trista went straight to Xander. Citing "personal conflict and risk of misdiagnosis," she officially blacklisted Samantha and her son from the clinic.

Xander didn't ask questions. "Consider it done. I'll have the system auto-reject them from now on."

He paused, looking at her with concern. "How are things at home?"

"The situation with the pup is settled," Trista said, not hiding the truth from him. "But finalizing the divorce is going to be a process."

Xander offered a small, supportive smile. "Cassian mistook gravel for a diamond. He's going to spend the rest of his life regretting losing you."

Trista didn't care about his regret. She just wanted the mating bond severed as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, at the Ironthorn villa, Humphrey led Samantha into the office and tactfully closed the door behind him.

The second it clicked shut, Samantha's tears began to fall.

"Cassian," she sobbed. "Your mother threw me out of the apartment last night. She said you personally admitted that Algernon isn't an Ironthorn. Is that true?"

Cassian stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, his white shirt sleeves rolled up, black sleeve garters emphasizing the lean muscle of his arms.

He turned around, looking at the hysterical woman with a face carved from stone.

"I said it."

The words hit Samantha like a physical blow, cutting off her sobbing instantly.

She stared at the Alpha she once thought she could manipulate forever, her eyes wide with disbelief.

The silence in the office was suffocating, heavy with the weight of his aura.

It took a long time for her to find her voice. "Cassian... you promised before the Moon Goddess that you would never let the secret of his bloodline out!"

"To protect your filthy secret, Trista terminated our child!"

Cassian's voice was like ice, a flicker of something close to pure destruction dancing in his eyes. "I lost my own flesh and blood. The true heir to the Ironthorn pack."

Samantha stumbled back, her spine hitting the cold wall.

It all made sense now. No wonder Alaina had shredded the protection agreement.

Cassian's features hardened into a mask of pure lethality. He looked at Samantha, his expression unreadable. "An urgent pack matter just came up. Get out for now. I need to re-evaluate your 'severance' package. Wait for my call."

Samantha stared at the asset transfer on the desk—it was so close she could touch it. She could feel the sudden, dangerous shift in his energy.

"Cassian... for the sake of what we had... you have to help me," she whispered, her voice trembling.

He gave a curt, impatient nod, and she fled the office, her heart racing.

Once she was gone, Humphrey locked the door and hurried back to the desk.

"Alpha Cassian," Humphrey said, his voice low. "When Crispin had that accident at the ski resort years ago, the official report blamed a course failure and a tourist moving the warning signs. But according to our latest investigation, the employee responsible for that run was a relative of Samantha's ex-husband. A man named Thad."

The pen in Cassian's hand snapped. His pheromones turned violent instantly.

"Go on."

"Shortly after Crispin's death, this Thad received a massive sum of money and moved his entire family overseas. We tracked the source of those funds... they came from one of Samantha's offshore accounts."

A flash of crimson bled into Cassian's eyes.
