The Heartbroken Luna's Choice Banish Love novel Chapter 322

Third Person's POV

10:00 AM, Humphrey knocked and entered Cassian's office.

"Alpha Cassian, we've gone through both of Samantha's phones. No suspicious contacts found."

Cassian frustratedly unbuttoned his collar and sank into his chair. "Dig deeper. Don't miss a single detail."

"We identified the man she met with," Humphrey added.

"He's a former super-fan from her influencer days. He's already dropped over four million dollars on her. Now, he's promising a thirty-million-dollar 'relocation fee' to take her out of the country. His only condition? He wants her to bear his heir."

Cassian's eyes turned predatory, flashing with lethal intent. "She isn't going anywhere until I have the full truth."

Samantha waited for two days.

The thirty-million-dollar windfall never came. Instead, she got an ultimatum from her "super-fan." Not only was the relocation deal off the table, but he was threatening to use his connections to claw back every cent of the four million he'd already given her.

Backed into a corner, Samantha reached out to her mother, Georgia.

They met under the shadows of a secluded park in L.A., Samantha keeping her oversized sunglasses on to hide her face.

Georgia didn't waste any time. "What happened to that idiot who promised you thirty million? Why haven't we heard from him?"

Samantha paced like a caged animal. "How should I know why he backed out?! Now every time I pick up his calls, he's just demanding his money back. What am I supposed to do?"

"You have to get the money from Cassian," Georgia urged in a low voice. "He's the Alpha of Ironthorn. High-tier families like that breathe money."

Samantha ripped off her sunglasses, revealing a face that was still bruised and swollen. She let out a jagged growl. "Mom, look at me! Trista did this. She's clinging to that mating bond like a leech, and I can't even set foot on Ironthorn territory!"

"Cassian gave me a place to stay and pays for Algernon's school, but he's cut off my cash flow completely. I ask for a designer bag and he doesn't even blink."

Samantha's voice started to tremble. "I'm starting to think he's onto something..."

Georgia gripped her daughter's hand, her face full of misery. "Samantha, do you know how much I suffered to raise you and your brother? Your brother is just a useless stray; you're our only ticket out. I know it's hard, but Angela is threatening to take the kids and leave. Your nephews need a roof over their heads."

"I know you can get the money. Once your nephews awaken their wolves, they'll pay you back. Just find a way to help your brother buy that house so they have a place to live."

In L.A., almost no attorney had the guts to take on her divorce.

Elias usually only handled massive corporate disputes between top-tier packs. Taking her case would be a huge personal favor.

Elias didn't leave room for an argument. "It's settled. I'm taking the case."

Trista watched him walk away before gently ruffling Sayer's hair. "Since your dad is so set on helping, I guess I won't say no. Once the bond is gone, I'll pay him a huge fee so he can buy you all the treats you want."

Sayer looked up with his innocent face. "Daddy helping Mommy is what he's supposed to do. You don't have to be polite, Mommy."

Trista couldn't help but smile.

The kid was smart, well-mannered, and incredibly sweet. Elias had clearly done a great job raising him.

Since she still had a little time before her shift ended, Trista took the boy into her office.

Her assistant, Zelda, came over to play with Sayer, but eventually leaned in and whispered, "Dr. Holmes... is the bond still not broken yet?"
