Third Person's POV
Cassian gave a subtle nod, his cold gold eyes scanning the room. Humphrey instantly got the memo.
He stepped forward and slammed a paternity report—complete with the Ironthorn seal and fresh glandular tissue samples—onto the long table.
At the same time, two burly guards dragged Algernon out from the shadows, hauling the kid into the center of the room like a wet rag.
"Ainsley, take a good look at this pup," Cassian's voice boomed through the hall, heavy with the weight of a judge passing sentence. "He's your kid, yours and this bitch's. Am I right?"
Ainsley gave Algernon a look of pure disgust, as if he were staring at a stain on his family's bloodline.
He pointed a finger at Samantha, his voice a low, vibrating growl of suppressed rage. "Alpha Cassian, six years ago, this rogue found out I was about to hit my mating window. She was low enough to spike my water with stimulants—forcing my Alpha instincts to kick in so she could trap me. Later, she had the nerve to show up at my fiancée's house with a positive pregnancy test. I almost lost my inheritance and my spot in the pack because of her."
He got louder, the wolf soul behind him beginning to flare. "Three years later, she crawls back to my territory with this kid, trying to blackmail me into making her my mate. She even got me hooked on that neurotoxin wolfsbane. When I refused to let a bottom-feeder like her near me again, she tore my pack apart until I cut her a check for thirty million just to get her out of my sight!"
Ainsley lunged toward the cowering Samantha. "Alpha Cassian, her 'ex-husband' died from an overdose of hallucinogens. I'd bet my life this venomous bitch killed him just to snap the old bond!"
Samantha let out a shriek, her voice sounding like tearing leather. "Ainsley, you lying bastard! You couldn't control yourself and you took me by force! I had to find some random stray to mate with just to cover the shame! Now you're standing here framing me for murder? Has your wolf been picked clean by vultures?"
Cassian had finally had enough.
Every step he took toward her made his Alpha aura heavier, like a localized thunderstorm, tearing away her final layer of lies.
"Samantha, six years ago, you ditched our deal. You pocketed the sixty million my grandfather gave you, faked a robbery to play the victim, and immediately went after Ainsley."
Cassian's voice wasn't loud, but every word hit like a thunderclap. "When that failed, you went into hiding with the kid. You wanted to crawl back to L.A., but my grandfather smelled the rot in your soul. He's the one who forced you to bond with that other man while you were abroad."
Samantha shook her head, letting out a desperate whimper. "No! He used his rank to force me!"
