The Heartbroken Luna's Choice Banish Love novel Chapter 366

Third Person's POV

The slap sent Samantha spinning. She collapsed onto the floor like a pile of rags, unable to get back up.

Suddenly, she lunged toward Cassian like a rabid dog, her sharp nails slicing through the air. "Cassian! I did everything for you! You can't do this to me!"

The two Ironthorn guards were like brick walls. They pinned her shoulders, slamming her down just two feet away from him.

Cassian looked down at her, the very last flicker of warmth in his eyes going cold. "Samantha, because you saved my life all those years ago, I gave you a thousand chances. But you're a murderer. No one can save you now."

Samantha whipped her head around, her bloodshot eyes locking onto Trista. "It's because of her, isn't it?"

She let out a piercing screech. "You're still obsessed with that woman! You want to mark her again, so you're throwing me in a dungeon to clear the way?"

When Cassian didn't answer, Samantha completely lost it.

She knelt on the floor and began to wail, her tears smearing her heavy makeup into a messy mask.

"Cassian, you defied the elders for me! You tore up your mating for me! I'm the one you wanted to bond with! I'm the one you love, right?"

Cassian instinctively looked toward Trista at the back of the room.

Meeting her eyes—cool and sharp as frost—he felt a sharp pang in his chest.

He pulled his gaze away and addressed the room. Standing before every elite power player in Los Angeles, he spoke with lethal clarity. "Samantha, we had a history. And yeah, the thought of mating with you crossed my mind. When we met again six years later and I saw the state you were in, I felt guilty."

His tone was so calm it was terrifying. "I favored you behind my Luna's back. I took care of you. That was a mistake, and it was disgusting of me. But I never—not for one second—intended to dump my mate for someone like you."

Samantha stopped crying abruptly. She let out a cackle that made everyone's skin crawl.

"Cassian, even if you didn't want to let go, you're single now, aren't you?"

Cassian's expression went grim, his voice dropping into a dangerous register. "I agreed to that severance so I could start over and pursue her with a clean slate. It had nothing to do with you."

The words hit Samantha like a whip, making her wolf soul shudder.

Samantha's roar was so loud it echoed with the distant howls of wolves outside the club. "Why? Why do you Alphas stay stuck on an old mate when you could give an omega like me a chance?"

She pointed at Alaina and the crowd, looking like a total psycho. "Why do you all look at me like I'm trash?"

Finally, she turned on Trista, screaming with pure venom. "You're a healer from a bankrupt pack! What do you have that I don't?"

Trista watched her spiral, her expression unchanged. She didn't even bother to respond.

Samantha had paved her own path to hell with greed.

If she had vanished with the sixty million, or settled down with Ainsley's thirty million, or even just taken the payout Cassian offered to leave L.A., she wouldn't be standing here being publicly executed.

Wynn watched Samantha snap at Trista and let out a sharp, mocking laugh. "Samantha, did being a rogue rot your brain? You really thought this was some 'rags-to-Luna' underdog story? What made you think my brother would ever mark a piece of trash like you?"

Samantha's eyes were blood-red. "Wynn, if you weren't born with the Ironthorn name, a she-wolf like you wouldn't even be fit to scrub my shoes!"

Alaina stepped in front of a fuming Wynn, her gaze like ice. "Samantha, you took the old man's money and still couldn't stay away. You tried to scheme your way back to L.A., so he forced you to bond abroad. His only boundary was for you to stay away from Ironthorn. You're the one who couldn't stop reaching for what wasn't yours. This isn't bad luck—it's justice."
