Chapter 110 Enemies Converge
“My father sent the message,” she whispered.

“Or someone working for him,” Frost confirmed. “It’s a trap, Mrs. Vex. They want you to show up for this supposed meeting so they can record it, twist your words, use it against you somehow. I’d bet money on it.”
Elera felt sick. Her father wasn’t just going on TV and playing the victim. He was actively trying to entrap her, to create situations where she’d look guilty or cold or exactly like the villain he was painting her to be.
“Then we don’t take the bait,” Drakonius said firmly. “We ignore the message, proceed with our own plans and stay two steps ahead.”
“Agreed,” Frost said. “I’ll keep monitoring in case they try again, but Mrs. Vex should not engage with any anonymous contacts.”
After Frost left, Elera sank into a chair, suddenly exhausted. “I can’t believe he’d do this. I mean, I can believe it, but to actually experience it is different. He’s my father. And he’s trying to destroy me.”
“He’s trying to use you,” Drakonius corrected. “There’s a difference. He doesn’t want you destroyed, he wants you controlled. Compliant. Profitable to him. And when you refused to play that role, he decided to force your hand.”
“Well, he’s going to be disappointed.”
“Very.” Drakonius crouched down in front of her chair so they were at eye level. “Elera, I need you to hear this. You are not alone in this fight. You have me, you have Frost and his team, you have Simon and Anya, you have Clara. You have people who see you for who you really are and support you. Your father has money and manipulation, but we have something stronger. We have the truth. And eventually, truth wins.”
“Does it?” Elera asked, her voice small. “Because from where I’m sitting, it looks like liars win all the time. My father has been lying his whole life and he’s rich and successful. Sarah has been lying about me since and people believe her. Xan built his whole revenge plot on lies and he still has his company, his reputation, everything. Where’s the justice in that?”
“The justice is that they have to keep lying. They have to maintain the facade every single day, never slipping, never showing weakness. They have to remember which version of the story they told to which person. They have to live in constant fear of being exposed.” Drakonius took her hands. “You don’t. You’re done hiding. You’re stepping into the light, showing everyone exactly who you are. And that freedom, that authenticity, is something they’ll never have. That’s the justice.”
Elera looked at him, at the certainty in his storm–gray eyes, and felt some of her despair lift. He was right. She was choosing truth, choosing transparency even knowing it would be harder and messier. But at least she’d be free.
“When did you get so wise?” she asked.
“Around the time I married a woman who’s smarter than me in every possible way. It’s rubbing off.”
She smiled despite everything. “I’m not smarter than you.”
“You absolutely are. You’re running circles around all of us and we’re just trying to keep up.” He stood up

pulling her to her feet with him. “Now come on. We have a corporate empire to out you as the CEO of, a media strategy to plan, and approximately seventeen other crises to manage. No rest for the brilliant.”
“Or the wicked,” Elera added.
“That too.”
They spent the rest of the day in intense planning mode. Clara was brought in via video call and nearly had a heart attack when Elera told her about the Nethys Medical reveal.
“You’re the CEO of a multi–billion dollar medical research company,” Clara said slowly, like she was processing it in real time. “You’re Raven Shadowmere and a secret medical mogul. What’s next, are you going to tell me you’re also a fashion designer and a professional spy?”
Elera and Drakonius exchanged glances.
