“Nethys Medical is not just a company. It’s a promise, A promise to patients with rare diseases, to families waiting for cures, to researchers pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. That promise is too important to be gambled with by short–sellers and market manipulators.”
She could see the journalists leaning forward now. This was the good stuff. Accusations. Drama.
‘So today, I’m taking action. Effective immediately, I am injecting two billion dollars of personal capital into Nethys Medical. This capital will stabilize the stock, fund our next phase of clinical trials, and send a clear message to those trying to play games with human lives: we are not for sale. We are not a toy.”
A murmur ran through the crowd. Two billion was a lot of money, even for this crowd. A reporter near the Front shot his hand up, but Elera held up a hand.
‘I’ll take questions in a moment. First, I know what you’re all thinking. Where is a thirty–year–old woman getting two billion dollars in liquid capital?” She allowed a small, tight smile. “It’s a fair question. And the answer is simple.”
She took another breath. This was it. The moment of no return.
Few years ago, using earnings from my first novel, I founded a small fashion label. I called it Celestine. Today, Celestine is a globally recognized luxury house with annual revenues exceeding half a billion dollars. I am its sole owner, its majority shareholder, and its creative director.”
For a second, there was absolute silence. Complete, utter silence, as if someone had hit a mute button on
he entire world.
Then the room exploded.
Camera flashes went off like a strobe light. Journalists surged to their feet, shouting questions over each other. The sound was a wall of noise, chaotic and overwhelming. Elera stood perfectly still at the podium. etting it wash over her. She kept her expression neutral, her posture straight. Inside, her heart was hammering against her ribs like it wanted to escape.
She caught Drakonius’s eye in the front row. He wasn’t looking at the chaos. He was looking at her. And he was smiling. Not a big smile, just a slight curve of his lips, but his eyes were full of unmistakable pride.
It was the anchor she needed.
She raised her hand again, and slowly, reluctantly, the noise subsided.
“I will now take a few questions,” she said, pointing to a reporter she recognized from a major financial
network.
“Megan Thorne from CNB here. You’re saying you’re the secret founder of Celestine? The same Celestine that just won the International Design Award? How is that possible? And why keep it hidden?”
“It’s possible because I worked sixteen–hour days for those few years,” Elera answered, her voice crisp. “And I kept it hidden for the same reason I published my novels under a pseudonym. I wanted the work to stand on its own, separate from my family name, separate from any preconceptions. I wanted to build something that was truly mine.”

Another reporter shouted without being called on. “Is this a publicity stunt to distract from Nethys Medical’s problems?”
Elera fixed him with a cool stare. “Injecting two billion dollars is a rather expensive publicity stunt, don’t you think? The problems at Nethys Medical are being manufactured by outside actors. This capital is the solution, not a distraction.”
She pointed to another reporter.
“James Li from Wall Street Journal. You’ve now revealed yourself as a bestselling author, a medical researcher, and a fashion mogul. Are there any other secret identities we should know about?”
A ripple of laughter went through the crowd. Elera smiled, a real one this time.
“No, James. That’s all of them. I promise. I’m told my plate is officially full.”
