Lilian snapped at the lead surgeon who was still staring at her in shock. “Move! Do you want to wait until he needs another full transfusion?”

The surgeon snapped out of it and followed her lead. He found the bleed exactly where she said it would be. The entire team was floored. They had spent hours looking for the source only for this girl to find it in seconds.

Outside the OR Jared sat on a bench with a grim expression. He was restless, wringing his hands and constantly checking the doors.

Sebastian stood by the window his face like stone. He was radiating an icy energy that made everyone nearby uneasy. Foster looked at him and felt a sense of déjà vu. He hadn’t seen Sebastian look this cold and silent since the accident at Sandy River.

Foster could only pray Greg would be okay. If he wasn’t there was no telling what Sebastian might do.

An hour later the OR doors finally opened. Lilian walked out followed by the surgical team and Dr. Coleman.

Jared rushed over. “How is he? How is my dad?”

Ruby, Foster, and Ariana hurried over behind him.

The lead surgeon looked relieved. “He’s going to be fine. The surgery was a complete success. If there are no complications in the next twenty–four hours he will be out of the woods. After that he just needs rest.”

“Lilian really saved us this time” Dr. Coleman chimed in. “If she hadn’t stepped in I don’t think we would have made it.”

Jared let out a long breath. “Thank God. Thank God.” He looked at Lilian. “Lilian I can’t thank you enough. I really didn’t know what we were going to do.”

“Yes Lilian thank you for saving my father in law” Ruby added.

Lilian shook her head. “Don’t mention it. I can’t take all the credit. The doctors and nurses worked incredibly hard. I couldn’t have done it alone.”

“Of course” Jared said turning to the surgeon. “Thank you all for saving my father.”

Sebastian walked over to Lilian his voice softening. “Thank you Lilian.”

Lilian smiled at him. “What are you talking about? He’s your Grandpa which makes him my Grandpa too. Saving him was what I was supposed to do. You don’t need to thank me.”

“You’re right. He is your Grandpa too” Sebastian said his eyes finally showing a hint of warmth.

Foster let out a small laugh. “Lilian is Sebastian’s fiancée so she’s already family. Saying thank you just makes things feel awkward don’t you think?”
