The Heiress Reborn With A Mystic Space (Lillian) novel Chapter 1105

The words had barely left her lips before Jane’s body began to slump backward.

"Jane!" Renee shrieked, catching her daughter before she hit the floor. "Jane, look at me! Don't do this, please don't scare me like this! You are all I have left. Jane!"

Jane’s face had turned a deathly shade of white. "Mommy..." she whispered, her voice barely audible. "It hurts. Everything hurts."

Renee’s hands shook as she cradled the girl’s head. "Where? Tell me where it hurts, baby. Just tell me!"

"Everywhere," Jane murmured. "Mommy... am I dying? Did I get hit with that new toxin you made?"

Renee broke into frantic, ugly sobs. "I am sorry! I am so sorry! This is all my fault. If I had not been so obsessed with revenge, if I had not brought you back to Dracovia, if I had never touched those toxins... you would be fine. It is all on me. What do I do? Someone tell me what to do!"

She had never expected her daughter to pay the price for her impulsive rage. Though she had often treated Jane as a mere pawn in her games, seeing the girl collapse in her arms caused a visceral, bone-deep agony she had never felt before.

Renee ignored her. She dropped to her knees in front of Lilian, her voice cracking with desperation. "I am begging you. Save Jane. Please, save her! She is so young. I can not lose her... she is all I have. Please!" She began slamming her forehead against the floor, the dull thud of bone on wood echoing through the hall.

Lilian shot her a look of pure ice before returning to her work. "Don't waste your breath. Begging me is useless. You know exactly what you created. If I had a cure, I would not be sitting here helpless while the man I love is unconscious. This is karma, Renee. You planted this poison; now you have to taste the fruit."

Renee shook her head, tears and blood from her forehead smearing her face. "No, you have a way! You must! You have forty-eight hours to figure it out. I know everything is my fault, but my daughter is innocent! She was just following my orders! Please, she does not deserve this!"
