Foster broke down, weeping openly. "It is the truth, sir. I am not lying to you. Last night, Lilian called me and told me to bring you to the hospital this morning, saying she had found a way to save you. When we arrived today, she said a bunch of baffling things and told me to take good care of you. I was a bit confused at the time as to why she was telling me that, but I did not think too deeply into it. I only just found out from the nurse that something really did happen to Miss Lilian. In order to save you, she transfused every drop of blood in her body into yours."
Uriel desperately tried to hold back her tears. "So you are saying that the solution Lilian finally came up with to save Sebastian was a life for a life sacrifice."
Her words sent shockwaves through everyone present. None of them had ever imagined that when Lilian told them she had found a way to cure Sebastian yesterday, this was the method she meant.
"No. I do not believe it." Sebastian's dark eyes flashed with a piercing coldness as he roared, "I do not believe a single word of it! If you claim Lilian is dead, then where is her body? If she is alive, I want to see her in person. If she is dead, I want to see her corpse. Without seeing her with my own eyes, I will not believe a single word."
Furthermore, he simply refused to believe Lilian could die. Her body held so many hidden secrets, so how could she truly be gone?
Foster replied in a low voice, "The nurse said that after the surgery was over, Miss Lilian was taken away by someone."
"Taken away." Sebastian was completely enveloped in a murderous aura, his gaze sharp as shards of ice. "Then dig up the earth three feet deep and find her for me! I do not believe anyone has the audacity to take Lilian away from me." With that, he marched straight out of the room.
An hour later, inside the study at Ravenwood Manor.
The man stood before the windows, having already shed his hospital gown and changed into a sharp black suit. The watch face on his wrist reflected a cold light, and his obsidian eyes held an unyielding frost that seemed to freeze the surrounding air.
Standing a short distance away, Foster watched the man's silhouette and waited in silence. For some reason, he felt that ever since Sebastian woke up this time, he had changed. He had become far more ruthless, cold, and severe. The last remaining traces of warmth and gentleness on him had completely vanished along with the girl's disappearance.
