Tess grabbed a drink from the fridge and downed half of it in one long pull. Then she spotted the Master Healer. Her face went from surprise to delight in an instant.

Stella smiled faintly. “I’ll give you a break.”

Tess laughed awkwardly, then caught Stella’s expression and stopped stalling. “Stella. About what happened back then–I found a hole. Nicole being taken to that village? The Moores are connected. Definitely.”

The Master Healer straightened in his chair. “Well? Tell us.”

Tess pulled a stack of documents from an envelope. “Easy, easy. It’s complicated.”

Stella looked at the photo in Tess‘ hand and frowned. “Her.”

“Her name’s Tiffany Collins. She’s Amber’s best friend. Tiffany has a housekeeper, Jane, Jane’s the one who sent Nicole’s photo to the village head. She’s also the one who told them to grab Nicole.

“As for who lured Nicole to Jenston? Had to be that Moore housekeeper who died. No proof now–she’s gone–but who do you think gave her orders? Someone in that house.”
