Chapter 141 Felix Learns the Truth
“This is just the beginning–we’re not even close to being done.”
Stella’s lips curled into a slight smile, her eyes gleaming with amusement.

Without Felix quietly looking the other way, there was no way Amber–dumb as a box of rocks–could have covered up what happened to Mom inside the Moore family. She wouldn’t have had the brains or the connections.
The real show was still coming tonight.
“And you’re just going to stand there and let her talk to your father like that?”
Felix turned to Jasper, his eyes bloodshot.
This was the son he loved most. His pride. The one he had poured everything into, the one he had groomed to take over everything.
“Talk to you like what?”
Jasper let out a bitter laugh.
“You took her childhood away from her. And Nicole’s death? You’re not exactly innocent in that, are you?”
Felix stumbled back a step, something flickering in his eyes for just a second. Panic.
“You have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Maybe not. But you know the truth.”
Jasper felt like his heart was bleeding.
He never thought the man who had given him so much could be this cold.
“Do you two even have a conscience? He’s your father. How can you be so cruel?”
Amber was panicking now too.
Losing everything was bad enough, but she still had her mom. She still had the Collins family, the Watson family money.
But without the Moore family name backing her up? How was she supposed to survive in this city?
Stella blinked slowly, a small smile playing on her lips. “So, the reason you don’t feel bad about screwing over your dad is… well, probably because you’re not his real daughter, right?”
“Who asked you to speak? When your elders are talking, you keep your mouth shut.”
Jasper gently took her hand and patted it.
“This is JS Corp. And you’re not her elder. If you can’t show some respect, get out.”

Amber’s mouth opened and closed. She sniffled and tugged at Felix’s sleeve. “Dad…”
Felix didn’t have it in him to comfort her right now. “Mark… why?”
“I could ask you the same thing. Why? No matter what I did, I was never good enough for you. I wasn’t even as good as some adopted daughter.
“Mom was kind. She was gentle; she cared about everyone. And you hurt her anyway.
“You made her raise some other woman’s kid. And then you wanted to hand over everything she helped you build… to that woman’s child.
“Dad… are you really sure my little sister died right after she was born?”
“What the hell are you talking about now?”
“Funny how that works, isn’t it? My sister ‘dies‘, and right around the same time, you bring home your first love’s kid.”
“Mark, I lied to your mother to protect her. It was a white lie. I meant well.”
“Don’t you dare talk about my mother like that.”
Mark slammed the papers down on the table and stared him down, a cold smile curling at the edge of his mouth. “Call the cops if you want. See if I end up in jail.”
“You’re a Moore. How could you do this to your own family?”
“I could just go by Mark. Moore Group doesn’t exist anymore.”
He stood up. “Jasper, I’ve got work to get back to.”
He glanced at Stella and smiled. “I had them set up an office for you. Stop by whenever. Your dividends will hit your account.”
Stella pressed her lips together, the corners twitching up as she nodded.
He walked out.
For the first time in his life, he felt light. Free.
Mark wasn’t invisible anymore.
“Stop right there!”
Mark kept walking. Didn’t even slow down.
“Pfft-!”
Felix spat blood onto the floor, staring at the door his son had just walked through.
“Dad!”

Amber’s mind went completely blank.
Leo went with him to the hospital. Amber watched them go, then turned back. “Jasper… are you happy now? Is this what it took? Your father almost dead!”
Jasper didn’t even look at her. He just took Stella’s hand and walked away. Stella grinned. “Congratulations… you finally got what you wanted. Moore Group is all yours.”
Amber stomped her foot, fists clenched so tight her nails bit into her palms. She couldn’t hold it in
anymore.
