Chapter 159 Rejected Advances
“Check it,” Elias said, handing her the report.
Stella blinked in surprise. He really has it!
Her voice trembled slightly. “Elias…”
“So you’re not stealing anymore?” he asked, his tone flat as if his pride had been crushed. The air was thick with his feigned grievance.
She knew she’d taken the joke too far, her eyes filled with apology. “Then I’ll steal a kiss first.”
With that, she grabbed his neck, pulled him closer, and kissed him actively.
Elias couldn’t help but laugh, turning from passive to active and taking control of the kiss.
After a long while, he pulled away.
‘You little tease–you’re just here to torture me,” he said, gently nipping her lip as if in punishment. He took a deep breath, caressing her face. “I’ll go shower first. Wait for me.”
Elias jumped out of bed, muttering under his breath in resignation. “First time I didn’t resist, and I got rejected. Cold water never lets me down.”
Stella stared in disbelief. He’s definitely doing this on purpose!
She patted her burning cheeks, took a deep breath, and turned on the bedroom light. The wrinkles on the sheets made her face flush involuntarily.
After tidying up, she opened his medical report and let out a sigh of relief. He had been injured the last time they met.
“Well? Am I qualified?” Elias asked, wrapping his arms around her from behind and resting his head on her shoulder.
“Mm.” She nodded.
He kissed her cheek. “How was the dinner with your students?”
“It was good. I brought you late–night snacks,” Stella said.
Elias took her hand and led her downstairs. “Are you used to living with your dad now?”
“Yeah, it’s great,” she replied.
Stella propped her chin up, staring at him intently as he ate. This man was so handsome—she could never get enough of looking at him.
“What are you thinking about?” he asked.
“I’m thinking I have great taste. I found such a handsome boyfriend,” she smiled.

He touched her face, grinning affectionately.
“It’s late. I’ll take you home,” he said. To make a good impression on Jasper, he knew he had to send her back early–no matter how much he wanted to keep her.
“No need. I drove here,” Stella said.
“I want to spend more time with you,” Elias replied.
Stella didn’t refuse.
On the way back, she yawned several times and fell asleep in the passenger seat. She woke up just as they reached her door.
‘Elias, I’m going in,” she said.
‘Aren’t you going to steal anything else?” he teased.
She froze for a second, then smiled playfully. “I’m afraid the police will invite me for questioning.”
‘I wouldn’t press charges,” he said.
I’ll think about it at home,” she laughed, getting out of the car. “Drive safely. Goodnight.”
Goodnight.”
As soon as Stella walked in, she saw Jasper. “Dad, you’re still up?”
Stella, come here,” he said, handing her a list. “It’s Mr. Cross‘ birthday banquet. See what gift you want to zive.”
I already prepared a gift,” she replied.
What did you get?”
‘Five bottles of heart–saving pills,” Stella said.
Jasper suddenly realized. He’d almost forgotten–his precious daughter had exactly what Aaron wanted
most.
“You must be tired. Go to bed early,” he said.
“You too, Dad. Goodnight.”
Watching her leave, Jasper felt that the house was no longer cold and empty.
Before they knew it, Aaron’s birthday banquet arrived. The Cross Manor was filled with luxury cars, and all the top figures in Azure Peak City came to attend.
Aaron wore a red traditional suit, his face glowing as he greeted guests.

Seraphina walked in, linking arms with Arthur.
“Aaron,” Arthur said.
“Arthur, you made it,” Aaron replied warmly.
The Thorne family had moved abroad years ago, but they’d returned specially for the banquet.
“Mr. Cross, happy birthday! May you live a long and prosperous life,” Seraphina said politely.
