Iris pinched him hard without holding back. He frowned slightly, but one sharp look from her made him clamp his mouth shut right away.
The elders watched the pair with amused smiles on their faces.
“Kenneth, now that you’re married, you have to put your own little family first, you
understand?”
“Grandpa, don’t worry. I’ve got it.”
He raised an eyebrow and flashed a bright OK sign at Vincent.
“It looks like you’re perfectly happy with this marriage.”
Kenneth turned to Iris with soft, affectionate eyes. “I never realized true love was right in front of me all along. Thank you to all the elders for pushing me along.”
He poured a glass of red wine for Iris himself.
“Honey, let’s toast together and thank our family.”
Iris stood up too, and the two shared a cross–cupped toast in front of everyone, making the whole table laugh out loud.
“Oh, right, everyone! Let me show you our marriage license–look, the official certificate.”
Iris froze for a second when he pulled the license out of his suit pocket. Why on earth did he bring the document with him?
He walked around the round dining table, proudly showing off the license to every family member.
Elias glanced over, a hint of envy in his eyes. Stella reached down instinctively to hold his hand under the table. He looked at her, smiled fondly, and laced his fingers through hers.
“Elias, look! That’s what a marriage license looks like.”
“Congratulations, Kenneth.”
“You’re next–keep at it.”
Kenneth’s cocky, show–off attitude was impossible to miss.
“Leo, take a look. It’s the symbol of happiness, proof I’m no longer a single guy.”

Kenneth watched her confused expression and leaned in to murmur quietly, “We built this on real chemistry, don’t you think we’re perfect together?”
Iris stepped on his foot under the table, glancing around nervously.
Luckily, everyone was too busy eating to notice them.
“I’ll deal with you when we get home tonight.”
She kept a sweet smile on her face, but her hand pinched hard at the back of his thigh.
Kenneth frowned slightly, then leaned in again while serving her food, “Make it good and thorough, okay?”
Iris had no reply.
He was so shameless.
But secretly, she loved it.
The whole dinner was warm and enjoyable.
“Congratulations, Iris,” Stella said.
Iris covered her mouth and giggled.
“I’m so relieved to see you and Kenneth happy.” Stella had worried at first that their decision to marry quickly was too rushed.
“I never thought I’d find happiness in a flash marriage,” Iris said. She glanced over at Kenneth unconsciously, and he was already looking back, blowing her a playful flirty wink. She smiled without thinking.
“Stella, I think I’m really in love,”
“I can tell.” Every part of Iris was radiating joy.
“What gift do you want for the wedding?”
“Write a new song for me.”
Stella nodded gently. “When will the wedding be?”
“We’ll leave it to the elders to plan. Kenneth and I agree–we just need to show up.”
Iris took a sip of red wine and looked at her. “Stella, what about you and Mr. Cross?”
