“Only you and I know about that kiss. If we don’t talk about it, no one will ever find out.”
“Do you hate me?” Frederick’s heart jumped into his throat as he spoke.
It was the first time he had ever felt afraid.

It was almost ridiculous. Frederick Shaw, of all people, was scared that someone disliked him.
Tess shook her head slightly. “I don’t hate you.”
Frederick’s tense heart finally relaxed. A smile tugged at his lips. “So that means you like me.”
Tess‘ eyes widened. She was stunned by his move.
He kissed me!
The man is better–looking than a male model, has a great body, and is clean.
I’m not exactly losing out here.
But still…
Tess shoved him away hard. Frederick, who had been lost in the moment, stared at her in confusion. He brushed his thumb lightly over his lips, still warm from their kiss.
He smiled, his stunning face enough to make anyone fall.
Tess grabbed his tie and spun him around, pressing him against the wall.
“Angry?”
His husky, attractive voice echoed in the basement.
“Mr. Shaw, your technique is terrible. I’m not impressed.”
Frederick frowned.
Tess looked at him sharply. “Take notes.”
She leaned in and kissed him firmly.
Frederick’s eyes flew open. His heart raced faster and faster.
He had never been interested in women before. People had even wondered if something was

wrong with him.
But with her, he realized he was just as capable of desire.
Right now, he felt utterly delighted.
Just as he tried to take control, Tess ended the kiss.
She smiled charmingly and tapped his red lips. He thought he was going to melt.
“That’s how you kiss. Got it?”
Frederick chuckled. “I don’t. Maybe Miss Marlow should keep teaching me.”
Tess was speechless.

She turned to the desk, pulled out a chair, and checked her phone to see how far Stella was.
Frederick fixed his clothes. “I can pay you.”
“Frederick, are you sure you’re okay?”
“I’ll send you my
medical report.”
Tess burst out laughing. “Enjoyed that just now, didn’t you?”
Frederick nodded. Then his face changed. “You’re that good. Have you been in relationships before?”
“I don’t owe you that answer.”
He took a deep breath and stepped to the desk, leaning his hands on it. His tone was dominant. “I don’t care about your past. From now on, you’re mine.”
Tess looked up. dates.
She had to admit, this man had the best looks she’d seen among all her blind
More importantly, marrying him would make her family with Stella.
It was worth considering.
“How old are you again, Frederick?”
“Almost thirty–one.”
“A little old.”

Frederick was speechless. “Either way, you have to take responsibility for me.”

A bright smile spread across Tess‘ face. “You bullied me first, and now you want me to take responsibility?”
“You made the first move too.”
Tess shook her head. I messed up!
“Stella’s here. I’ll go get her.”
“Tess.”
“I can’t think about this right now. I just want to find the people targeting Stella and take them down.”
Frederick felt a flash of guilt. “Count me in. Let’s take them down together.”
They exchanged a smile.
As they walked out, they saw Stella and Elias.
When they reached the basement together, Stella was also shocked by the family charts.
She didn’t ask why Frederick had investigated the Corbin family. She only wanted to sort out their connections.
“Stella, the wealthy Corbin family in Vosshire is a branch of the reclusive Corbin clan. Your student Shane is part of the main family. The current head of the reclusive Corbin clan is his brother, Sean. Kael is his assistant, and also a Corbin.”
