Chapter 304 The Promise Kept
Stella, you’ll always be Daddy’s pride.
A faint smile tugged at his lips as he slowly closed his eyes.
The wind rustled through the cherry blossoms.
“Grandpa, look! The wind’s picking up!” Chloe’s sweet voice flowed like a gentle stream.
Stella looked up, her soft eyes filled with warmth. But her movements froze, and the violin music abruptly stopped.
“Mom, what’s wrong?” Liam’s young face frowned with confusion. He quickly steadied Chloe, who’d halted mid–dance.
Stella hesitated for only a second before rushing over–her figure darting through the swirling cherry blossom petals.
“Dad!”
When she confirmed he was gone, Stella stared at his peaceful face, still smiling softly. But she couldn’t hold back her tears.
“Dad, it’s Stella. Are you leaving me too?”
She leaned over him, feeling his body grow colder by the second.
It was the same scene all over again.
The only difference: one had been despair, the other release.
“Grandpa?” Chloe shook his arm, but this time, there was no response.
‘Mom, save Grandpa! Please save him!” She clung to his hand, rubbing it frantically as tears streamed down her face.
Liam stood nearby, his eyes red.
He pulled out his kids‘ smartwatch and called Elias, his voice breaking. “Dad! Dad!”
Elias panicked–he knew his son wouldn’t act like this unless it was urgent.
“Grandpa’s gone,” Liam sobbed.
Elias froze. “Take care of your mom.”
He hung up and raced out of the office.
Liam pulled Stella and Chloe close, finally letting his own tears fall.
The cries drew the other servants.

Lily hurried over, her back hunched, tears spilling down her cheeks.
Mr. Moore, you’re finally reunited with Mrs. Moore.
May you both be happy in the next life.
The other servants‘ eyes also glistened with sadness.
When Elias arrived, he found the three huddled together. Jasper lay peacefully on the patio chair, no longer breathing.
Cherry blossoms danced across the yard, but no one had the heart to admire them. Grief hung heavy in the air.
He rushed over, crouched down, and pulled all three into a tight hug.
“Stella, I’m here.”
“Do you think they’re together now? Did he keep his promise?” Stella asked, her voice hoarse with tears.
“They must be,” Elias replied.
He didn’t believe in such things, but in that moment, he prayed it was true.
“Stella, Jasper prepared everything in advance. Let’s honor his final wishes,” he said gently.
“Okay.”
Stella reluctantly let go of Jasper’s hand, her tears dropping onto his palm.
This time, he wouldn’t wake up to comfort her.
Elias notified all their relatives and friends.
Stella sat on the sofa, staring blankly at the kitchen., Liam and Chloe leaned against her sides, tears still flowing.
Memories echoed in her mind:
“Stella, you’re home! Wash up for dinner.”
“Stella, I tried a new pastry recipe–come taste it.”
“Stella, I made your favorite soup. Here’s a bowl.”
“Stella, did someone hurt you? Tell Dad, and I’ll make it right.”
The images were vivid–him in an apron, holding a spatula, peeking out of the kitchen with a big smile.
Now, everything was different.
