Chapter 307 Strength From Family

When Leo walked out of the exam room, the family of three stood up and rushed over.
“How is Stella?” Elias asked anxiously, glancing toward the ward behind him.
Chloe and Liam looked up at Leo, their eyes filled with worry.
“She’s fine—just needs plenty of rest,” Leo replied,
They let out a collective sigh of relief.
“Uncle Leo, when can we see Mom?” Liam asked, voicing their biggest concern.
“Right now, but let her rest a little first,” Leo said.
Elias nodded, then quietly walked into the ward.
Seeing Stella’s furrowed brows as she slept, he gently smoothed them with his thumb.
After a while, Stella slowly opened her eyes, dazedly meeting three pairs of worried gazes.
“Stella, you’re awake. How do you feel?” Elias asked.
“Mom,” Chloe said, taking her hand instinctively.
Stella tried to sit up. Elias quickly supported her, and Liam handed over a pillow, placing it behind her for
comfort.
Stella rubbed her forehead, looking around and realizing she was in the hospital.
“I’m okay, don’t worry,” she said softly, reassuring them.
“You must be hungry. I had food brought over–let’s eat, okay?” Elias said.
Stella touched her stomach–she really was hungry.
She nodded at Elias and the children, who still looked concerned.
The family of four ate dinner in the ward.
With Stella on an IV, Elias insisted on feeding her.
“Elias, I can feed myself,” she said.
“Mommy, don’t be shy. You’re sick–Dad should take care of you. It’s his job as your husband,” Chloe said seriously.
Liam nodded in agreement. “A man should comfort, encourage, and care for his wife when she’s sick and vulnerable. That’s what being a partner means. That’s what marriage is about. Mom, it’s not silly.”
A faint smile appeared on Stella’s tired face. Are these words really coming from a ten–year–old and a twelve-

But they’d been taught to respect their partners and give mutually–when they married someday, they’d know how to nurture their relationships.
Elias nodded, looking at the kids. “Enough watching–eat up. Don’t make Mom self–conscious
The siblings smiled at each other and dug into their food,
It was the first time their family of four had felt such a relaxed, warm atmosphere since Jasper’s passing.
Elias and Stella stared at each other, both exhausted, but their eyes were overflowing with love.
He fed her one bite at a time.
After she and the children finished eating, Elias cleaned up the leftover food.
“Chloe and I will go wash the dishes,” Liam said, moving quickly. Chloe helped him.
Watching the kids‘ retreating figures, they smiled with relief.
Even though the children had everything they needed, Stella and Elias wanted them to have basic life skills.
They didn’t have to do housework, but they shouldn’t be helpless.
“Elias, I’m sorry for worrying you,” Stella said.
Elias sat beside her, placing her hand on his chest.
Listening to his steady heartbeat, Stella felt at peace.
“Honey, you’ve been amazing,” he said.
Nicole’s tragedy could never be undone.
All they could do was ensure the perpetrators paid for their crimes.
“I want to hold an art exhibition for Dad. I want to start a foundation to help abducted women and children. I want to raise awareness about the harm abduction does to families and call for stricter punishments,” Stella said.
“Do whatever you want–I’ll support you all the way,” Elias replied, stroking her head gently, deeply touched by her kindness.
That night, at Elias‘ insistence, Stella stayed in the hospital.
Early the next morning, Leo came to give her a full checkup.
“Elias, I know my own body-”
“Doctors shouldn’t treat themselves. Listen to Leo,” he said, coaxing her patiently and patting her head.

The doctors and nurses watched, envious.
Who would have thought the cold, distant Mr. Cross was such a caring husband in private?
