Wayne stared in disbelief. Was my answer really that good? It made the ice–cold Kieran Jagger smile.

“Mr. Jagger, who is she?” Wayne asked curiously.

Kieran stared at his phone, growing anxious as he got no response.

He typed again, “Did you throw them in the trash?”

Another hour passed.

Chloe finished her work, checked her phone, and decided to reply. “Did you bug me?”

Kieran jumped up excitedly, then sank at the thought of the trash. His mood swung wildly.

He replied, “It would be an honor to be in your trash.”

Kieran asked, “Can we meet? To discuss the Aurora project.”

Chloe replied, “Next time.”

Knox smiled teasingly. “Changed your mind fast.”

“I’m pursuing her.”

Knox’s eyes widened. “So you do like women.”

“For real? Or just business?”
