Chapter 34 The Nirvana Accusation
He walked over, his face heavy with disappointment.
“Silas.”

Jasmine pressed herself against his chest, her shoulders shaking as she cried. Tears streaked down her cheeks, leaving glistening trails in their wake.
“What happened?”
“I was just trying to talk some sense into Miss Shaw. I told her she shouldn’t pretend to be Nirvana. If the real one ever found out, she’d absolutely get sued–it’s not worth the risk. But she wouldn’t listen, and then she shoved me.”
The moment the words left her mouth, a crowd of Iris‘ fans closed in.
“Wait, someone’s impersonating Nirvana?”
“Nirvana’s totally underground. Who’d have the nerve to fake being her? If Iris caught wind of that, she’d shut it down in seconds.”
“Not only is she pretending to be Nirvana, but she also put her hands on someone.”
“It’s that girl—the one working part–time at the concert venue, the one claiming to be Nirvana.”
Jasmine buried her face deeper into Silas‘ chest.
Even though Jasmine wasn’t the woman he truly wanted to marry, at this moment, she was still his girlfriend. If he stood by while someone he was with got pushed around, how could he ever show his face in Azure Peak City again?
“Apologize,”
Silas‘ voice cut through the chaos, cold and sharp.
The crowd, predictably, was more than happy to stir the pot.
“Silas, I’m okay,” Jasmine murmured, though a flicker of satisfaction glinted in her eyes.
Getting Stella to drink with them earlier had been harder than she’d expected.
This was the only angle she could think of.
She just hoped Silas would move fast and expose Stella for embezzling funds from the convent’s donation pool. Once that scandal broke, Stella would be so buried in damage control,

she wouldn’t have time to go after Jasmine’s father.

“If you did something wrong, you owe her an apology. We’re off school grounds now–don’t think you can pull the teacher card here.”
Boxed in by the crowd, Stella couldn’t leave even if she wanted to.
A cold smile tugged at the corner of her mouth. “You’re saying I pushed you?”
“You definitely did,” Jasmine shot back, unwavering.
“Stella, apologize.” Silas‘ command was met with murmurs of agreement from the crowd, all pressing her to say sorry.
Stella’s lips curved into a faint smirk. Without warning, she stepped forward, grabbed Jasmine by the arm, and yanked it forward.
“Pop.”
That was the unmistakable sound of a shoulder dislocating.
“Ahh-!”
Jasmine collided with a pillar, the impact rattling every bone in her body.
“Ugh…”
She gasped, struggling to catch her breath.
“Stella, that’s enough.” Silas‘ pride was bruised, and his temper was starting to boil over.
“Tess, the security footage,” Stella said calmly.
Tess, who had just arrived, gave a small nod.
“Miss Shaw, we’ve pulled the surveillance video and brought a projector,” Gideon said, stepping forward.
“Thanks for your help,” Stella replied coolly, her gaze sweeping over the crowd.
Jasmine’s heart lurched.
Surveillance footage? How was that possible?
Stella was just some broke college kid–how did she get her hands on the footage so fast?
“Stella, even if it was a misunderstanding… you knew the famous composer went by Nirvana,

and you still chose the same name. That’s pretty convenient, don’t you think?”

Jasmine’s jab planted a seed of doubt. Even if the footage cleared Stella of pushing her, people were already muttering that Stella was shamelessly riding on someone else’s coattails.
Jasmine smirked coldly.
“Your name’s Stella, right? I’m going to tweet about this and tag Iris. Let’s see if the concert organizers keep hiring some random temp after that.”
“Who here actually knew my name was Nirvana?” Stella asked quietly.
The crowd fell silent.
“If no one knew, then whose coattails was I supposed to be riding?”
More silence.
“Jasmine, you do know that making false accusations is illegal, right?”
Jasmine had no comeback.
Stella glanced up at Elias. Their eyes met briefly, and they exchanged the smallest nod of acknowledgment.
Then she got in the car and drove off.
“Stella, is Jasmine seriously unhinged or what?” Tess asked from the passenger seat.
Stella let out a cold laugh. Some people never learn. Looked like the law students over at Azure Peak University were about to get another internship opportunity dropped in their laps.
“Silas, you don’t think she’ll actually come after us, do you?”
The question made Silas think back to the public apology he’d been forced to make not long ago. He decided to go on the offensive.
His
eyes
darkened as he pulled out his phone and made a call.
A smug smile spread across Jasmine’s face.
“Stella, the pastries earlier were sent by Mr. Cross,” Tess mentioned casually,
At that, Stella’s expression flickered almost imperceptibly.
Tess‘ eyes lit up with curiosity. “Stella, he also helped you get that footage just now. You think… maybe he’s got a thing for you?”
