Jasper touched her head gently, full of affection.
"How's Amelia? Feeling better?"
Nicole pressed her lips together and shook her head.
"I'll find out what Jaron really thinks."
"Forget it. Guys can't be forced. The more you chase, the worse it gets."
Jasper froze for a second, then smiled. "You sound like an expert."
"I don't want Amelia to beg. It's not like her."
Jasper nodded. "Tell me whatever you need. Your boyfriend's at your service."
"I won't hold back."
"Good girl." He stroked her head softly.
"I have to go up. The food's still hot."
"Okay. Take it easy."
Nicole waved and carried the meals upstairs.
As Jasper reached the boys' dorm, he saw Tiffany waiting for Jaron.
"Jasper, you're back."
He smiled and was about to go upstairs when Jaron called him.
"Jasper, here. From my girlfriend. For everyone in the dorm."
"For me?"
Tiffany smiled sweetly. "Hope you like it."
"Thanks, but I have a girlfriend. I can't accept gifts from other girls." Jasper refused politely and left.
Tiffany looked embarrassed.
"It's fine. He's just whipped. Don't get him anything next time."
Jaron was terrified of Nicole getting mad.
If she was upset, she didn't even need to lift a finger—Jasper and Amelia would beat him up.
Speaking of Amelia... he wondered how she was.
He'd never seen her so pale before.
"Is his girlfriend scary?"
"No. She's sweet and kind. I'll introduce you sometime."
"I'm sure we'll be best friends."
Jaron nodded. "Thanks for the gifts. I'm heading up."
Tiffany watched him leave, a determined look in her eyes.
Jaron hurried over and put an arm around Jasper's shoulder. "How's Amelia? Be honest."
"You won't regret being with that girl?"
"Why would I?"
Jasper didn't say anything else.
