The Heiress With Seven Secret Identies (Stella Shaw) novel Chapter 427

Jaron broke down, sobbing uncontrollably until the world went dark and he lost consciousness.

Inside Azure Peak City Hospital, Jaron snapped his eyes open. The moment he realized where he was, he ripped the IV needle from his arm, ignored the blood trickling down his hand, and stumbled toward the door.

"Where do you think you're going?" Nathaniel demanded, catching him by the shoulder.

"Where is she?" Jaron gasped.

"She's gone, Jaron."

"It was you, wasn't it?" Jaron's eyes were bloodshot as he let out a guttural roar. "Did you do this? I already broke up with her! Why would you do this to her? Why?"

He shook with rage. "That was a life! A real, living person! If you hated her so much, you could have just kicked her out of the city. Why did it have to be this?"

Crack.

Nathaniel delivered a sharp, stinging slap to his son's face.

"Do you even hear yourself?" Nathaniel asked, his voice thick with disappointment. "I had nothing to do with this. Whether it was an accident or arson, the truth will come out. To have my own son accuse me like this... It's heartbreaking." He turned to the staff. "Take him back to his room."

"No! I'm not going back! I have to find her!" Jaron wrenched himself free from the bodyguards and bolted out of the hospital.

But once he hit the streets, he realized he had no idea where to go. He collapsed to his knees in the middle of the sidewalk, tears finally spilling over.

I'm sorry. Tiffany, I'm so sorry.

Her desperate pleas—begging him not to leave—looped relentlessly in his mind. He was drowning in a sea of self-loathing and guilt.

A hand settled gently on his shoulder. Jaron spun around, a flicker of hope in his eyes. "Tiffany?"

The hope vanished instantly when he saw Jasper standing there.

"Go home, Jaron," Jasper said quietly.

"It's my fault, isn't it? It's all my fault."

"It has nothing to do with you."

"If I hadn't broken up with her—"

"Don't take the weight of the world on your shoulders," Jasper interrupted. "And for what it's worth, I don't think your father would be that cruel."

"Then you don't know him," Jaron spat.

Jasper shook his head. "You two were already over. Your father had no reason to go that far."

Jaron didn't answer. He just thought about how cold he had been to her, and the guilt intensified.

"It's late," Jasper said. "Let's get you back."

"Where is she? Where are they keeping her?"

"The rest of the Collins family... they've already had her cremated."

Jaron flinched as if he'd been struck. He closed his eyes tight, more tears tracing paths down his face.

"Will you... Will you have a drink with me?" Jaron asked hoarsely.

"Yeah. I'll stay."

Jasper helped him up, and they headed back to Jaron's villa. Once there, Jaron pointed to a specific bottle on the shelf. "You can have anything but this one."
