"Dr. Sullivan," Sebastian broke the silence, his tone even. "Thank you for looking after my grandfather."

Evelyn drew her gaze back and turned to him. "I'm glad Mr. Thorne is recovering well. The hospital has all his follow-up rehab plans sorted out."

"I know." Sebastian nodded. "The director showed me the full post-op plan later on. It included a lot of your recommendations."

He was telling the truth. When he visited his grandfather that morning, the hospital director had specifically brought out a detailed recovery plan that perfectly integrated standard medical treatments with holistic care, structured and thorough. The director had mentioned that Evelyn had personally added many of those details.

"It's only right." Evelyn's tone was measured. "Elderly patients recover much better with a comprehensive, integrated approach."

She spoke with pure professionalism, entirely in her element as a doctor.

Sebastian glanced at her in the rearview mirror. She was wearing an off-white trench coat today, her hair draped over her shoulders, her face devoid of makeup and strikingly clean. Yet, looking closely, the faint redness at the corners of her eyes couldn't escape his notice.
