The Last Lycan King Is My Slave novel Chapter 284

I Want a Family with You

ISIDORA

I blocked my fears and doubts at once so he wouldn’t feel any of them through the bond.

I knew Vhaelor would never force me, that he’d respect my decision… but my heart had begun to ache for it To want it.

Vaska… I couldn’t make that choice without her.

“What’s wrong? You’re frowning…”

He smoothed the crease between my brows with one finger, and I realized he was standing in front of me again.

I masked it at once, spreading my legs so he could step closer, then running my hands over his hard chest.

I leaned forward over the cold porcelain counter and slowly kissed the place where his heart pounded beneath his skin.

He let out a low growl, hands caressing my back as he kissed my hair.

“I was thinking that once Elessia is healed and you’ve stabilized the realm, we could run away. Just the two of us. No curses, no throne, no conflicts… We could go live out our illusion.”

I whispered, cupping his cheeks as Vhaelor bent closer.

“That sounds perfect… I’ll create the world you’ve always dreamed of, wherever you choose. A world where you can stay with me forever.”

He gave me another delicious kiss and scooped me up like a doll all over again.

I let my thoughts run wild with sex and lust, refusing to think about complicated things… refusing to think about that little girl with golden eyes like her father’s, waiting for me somewhere…

NARRATOR

Elessia slipped out of bed as quietly as she could.

She was tired of sleeping.

Tired of all the remedies they kept giving her to help her heal, tired of the taste of potent blood in her mouth.

Someone had been feeding her, but it wasn’t Isidora.

Elessia knew the taste of Isidora’s blood… and it sure as hell wasn’t the Lycan King’s, either.

Whoever it was, they were just as strong.

Their blood tasted spicy on her tongue, hot in her throat.

Elessia was so confused. She needed to get some air. At least that.

She made out a shadowy figure in the antechamber, lying on a sofa near the door, and assumed it was Isidora.

Without her wolf, her senses and the gifts of her kind were almost completely gone. And the thick scent of herbs didn’t help. It made the air nearly impossible to breathe.

Elessia eased open the doors leading from her room to the terrace.

Right… she was in the Lycan King’s palace, and Isidora had explained that Blaze was the king.

The same slave Elessia had argued with a few times.

She shuddered at the thought that he’d risked his neck for her friend. Even though she still didn’t fully understand any of this madness, she was happy for Isidora.

Elessia leaned over the railing in the moonlight. The cold predawn breeze brushed over her skin and stirred the thin fabric of her nightgown.

She stared off into the distance, her mind blank, that sharp ache in her chest still there.

She wasn’t stupid… Something had happened to her.

Something far more serious than a fall down the stairs.

Suddenly, something warm settled over her shoulders.

She spun around, instantly alert. She hadn’t sensed anyone approaching.

“Easy… easy. I didn’t mean to scare you.”

Cassian immediately stepped back when he saw her shaking from head to toe.

Her eyes were full of the panic of someone who’d suffered a brutal attack.

“I didn’t want you to be cold.” He gestured to his jacket, now draped over her shoulders.

“How… how did you get into the room?”

Elessia’s voice trembled a little. She didn’t know why, but something about this male made her feel strange.

“I didn’t. I was patrolling the garden when I saw you come out here in the predawn cold. I don’t want you catching a cold…”

“Why?” she asked at last.

She’d been wondering that since the first time she’d seen him in her room.
