Chapter 72 A Miracle Or A Nightmare?
Inside the room.
Magnus placed the pill in Moses’s mouth without a second’s hesitation.
His only demand was that his grandfather survive.

The room was quiet. Only the hum of medical equipment. Georgia followed the elders inside and watched as the sickly blue-gray drained from Moses’s face, replaced by something approaching normal. Everything appeared to be trending in the right direction.
The cloud hanging over them began to lift.
Moses’s eyelid twitched.
Magnus lit up.
The next second, dark, blackish-red blood poured from Moses’s mouth in terrifying waves. The sheer volume sent everyone into a panic.
“Doctor!!!!”
Downstairs, in the car.
Wynne raised an eyebrow, expressionless.
“Do
you like that plot of land in Southmere?” Chin propped lazily on one hand, Wynne’s gaze was idle, as if she hadn’t just said something earth-shattering.
Alex didn’t offer
an
opinio
He believed in Wynne’s medical skills completely. But opening with “land in Southmere” was a bit much,
Those were the two most coveted plots in all of Montshore. Exery mover and shaker in the city had been circling them for years, and the municipal government refused to let go. Every square foot was worth a
fortune.
It was a golden goose.
“Want me to give it to you?” She yawned, a tinge of red at the corners of her eyes.
Jerome didn’t speak. His expression was detached, his sickly pale face both cold and alluring
From any angle, he was impeccable.
“Sure.”
Alex remained silent.
Talk about the blind leading the blind.

Then-
Georgia burst through the hospital’s revolving doors, ran to the Maybach, and slapped the window. Her white coat was spotted with blood, and her face was drained of color.
The window descended.
“I warned you.” Wynne’s voice was cold.
She made no move to get out.
Georgia was speechless, burning with shame.
Wynne had warned them twice.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. If Wynne were in Georgia’s shoes, she’d have been furious, too-and now they expected her to clean up the mess.
But Moses’s condition couldn’t wait.
“Please-”
“Please. Save my Grandpa!”
Magnus materialized behind Georgia, hands and clothes streaked with blood. He stared at Wynne like she was the last lifeline in the universe.
Gone was the certainty with which he’d shown her the door.
When Wynne didn’t move, Magnus lowered his lashes. After what felt like an eternity, he pressed his lips together and began to drop to his knees.
His knee had barely begun to bend when a small white sneaker pressed lazily against it from below.
Magnus looked up in shock.
Wynne had gotten out of the car at some point. She looked down at him with cold eyes…
Inside the corridor.
Juan, who’d been loudly extorting the mayor minutes ago, was now silent as a man whose tongue had been cut out. Through the crack in the door, he’d witnessed Moses vomiting blood with his own eyes.
It was terrifying.
“Mom, did we just make things worse?” Juan’s first instinct was to run.
Mariana was equally panicked. “Randall, what do we do?”
For years, she’d relied on her five-year-old prodigy great-grandson to solve her problems.
But prodigy or not, Randall was five.

While the three of them were herded into a waiting room, the elevator opened. Wynne strode out-hands in pockets, cold and imperious-with Georgia and Magnus in tow. She pushed through the door with undeniable authority.
Moses was still in critical condition.
Blood was still pouring. His vitals were infree fall.
A ring of doctors stood around, helpless.
“Move.”
A clear, cold voice from behind them. Their bodies made way before their minds caught up.
“Girl-”
Collin was overjoyed to see her back.
Rowan immediately cleared the room, sending every doctor out except Georgia.
Wynne walked to the bedside and looked down. Two seconds.
“Needles.”
She held out her hand.
