The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 481

With that, Hans and Jackson flanked the wheelchair, pushing Petty into the room.

The door clicked shut.

Franco stared at the closed door, his gaze dropping slightly before he finally turned and walked away.

Inside, Hans tightened his grip on the wheelchair's handles, studying the back of Petty's head. She was completely silent, lost in her own thoughts.

When they reached the bed, he helped her get settled. She leaned weakly against the headboard, looking up at him. "When I get the chance, I'll take you to see Abacus. He's such a good boy. He can already say 'Mama.' Next time, I'll teach him to say 'Uncle.' He's so smart, I know he'll learn it in no time."

Franco hadn't told her that she could actually watch Abacus through a monitor outside the isolation ward. If he had, she never would have left the boy's side. And without proper rest, her body would never recover.

Hans grinned. "Sounds like a plan. I'll spoil him like he's my own kid. I expect him to look after me when I'm old and gray."

Petty brushed off his dramatic nonsense.

He wasn't even twenty-six yet. Old and gray? Only he could come up with something so ridiculous.

Resting her hands on the blanket, Petty spoke softly. "I think I'd like something to eat."

Hans's face lit up, and he exchanged a relieved look with Jackson.

Just as Hans was about to order someone to fetch food, Aaron noticed Jay returning down the hall, carrying a tray.

"Jay... J," Aaron corrected himself quickly, stepping up to meet him.

Jay glanced down at him. "Take this."

"I'm not hungry," Aaron said quickly.

Before he could finish, he met Jay's deep brown eyes. The larger man looked at him like he was a complete idiot. "It's for the missus."
