The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 498

"Gavin, what's wrong?" Nanette scrambled up from the floor. Her heart skipped a beat, and her legs felt like jelly.

But the moment she reached for him, he shoved her away.

The forceful push sent her stumbling backward. She nearly collapsed, twisting her ankle with a sharp flare of pain, but she couldn't bring herself to care.

His complexion looked even worse than before.

He grabbed a handful of tissues from the table, hastily wiping the blood from his mouth and fingers, completely ignoring the woman he had just pushed aside.

Nanette was used to his coldness. For years, she had been the one chasing after him, and she wasn't going to stop now.

"What's going on with you? Are you sick? Let's go to the hospital, please?" She stepped forward, gripping his hand tightly.

He threw off her hand again. "Get the hell out," he snapped.

A chilling wave of dread washed over her. Suddenly realizing something, she spun around and bolted to the closet. She grabbed a set of clothes she'd brought over and started changing right there in the room, bypassing the bathroom entirely.

She never would have dared do this before. She knew his boundaries and never crossed them, terrified that the leverage she held over him would become useless if she pushed too far.

But right now, all she could see was him coughing up blood. There was no time to worry about making him angry.

Not that he noticed. He didn't care what she was doing.

Nanette quickly finished dressing and rushed back to him. "Come on, we're going to the hospital."

She reached out to support his arm.

Gavin slowly turned his head, glancing at her hand before meeting her gaze. His eyes were filled with mockery. "Aren't you afraid Franco's men will find out?"
