The next day, Caden was no longer waiting downstairs.

A girl in my dorm who often worked out early told me, “He said he’s going back to school and won’t bother you again.” I nodded with my thanks and went about my business.

Soon after, I heard from the mutual friend that Caden and Selene had started dating. He often messaged to

gossip, “Those two are glued together every day, flaunting their relationship online. It’s disgusting.”

“I heard Caden was voted school heartthrob. Figures, with his bone structure and rich family. No wonder he’s so many people’s secret crush.”

“Apparently, Selene is green with jealousy.”

“By the way, Adeline, how have you been lately?” He was probing for information about me, both directly and

indirectly. But I was truly busy.

I had classes, club activities, and roommates to keep up with. So, every time we chatted, I was perfunctory.

But soon, the mutual friend messaged me, “Caden and Selene broke up and broke their mate bond!“I was a little surprised. After all, the change was incredibly sudden.

Listening to my friend’s voice message, I learned, Selene was discovered to be pregnant in the second month

of the semester.

Caden didn’t want the child. He transferred her 3,000 dollars and told her to get an abortion.

However, Selene refused. “Aren’t you worried about my health? What if I can’t have kids after this abortion?” Caden responded impatiently, “You think this is some novel? Stop reading those stories about infertility after one abortion. Get rid of it now, don’t make me do it for you.”

During the argument, Caden pushed her.

Selene fell down the stairs on the spot, bleeding heavily.

The situation escalated quickly.

Before losing consciousness, she screamed, “Caden, you heartless bastard! You got me pregnant and won’t take responsibility…”

Fortunately, Sophia, who arrived on the scene, had the presence of mind. She paid 3,000 dollars to have someone collect blood samples from the staircase and took them for a paternity test. The results showed

the child was not Caden’s.

Armed with the DNA report, Sophia stormed into the hospital room to confront her.

Selene’s lips trembled, but she couldn’t say a word. She had slept with several of the guys from the ski trip.

Even she herself didn’t know who the father was.

From then on, Caden’s family didn’t pay a single cent for her recovery.

Selene’s reputation was completely ruined. She withdrew from school before fully recovering and vanished

without a trace.

I listened to my friend’s increasingly excited voice messages. In the end, I didn’t tell him that I was the one

who had anonymously tipped off Sophia.

The warning screenshot I sent her earlier was very simple.

There was a camera near the school equipment room that could see inside.

I asked a friend who in charge to the room to help me get a copy of the footage. Sure enough, it showed

Selene involved with other guys.

Later, when she went skiing out of town, I saw those photos. Noticing the distance and the looks between

her and the other guys, I already had my suspicions.

But that wasn’t enough.I never believed that only the woman should be punished for a mistake. Isn’t this world supposed to be about equality?

I turned off my phone, walked into the library, borrowed some materials, and focused on preparing for my

exams.

Two years later, I went abroad as an exchange student for further study. I stayed for six years, completing a combined Bachelor’s and Master’s program.

On the day I returned home, my dad and mom came to pick me up. “Welcome home, sweetheart!”

“Adeline, Caden has been gaining experience at Hawk Company for a few years now. What about you?” Mom

asked with a smile.

I took the flowers mom handed me and raised an eyebrow. “I can also go back to Stone Company to gain experience. It just depends if my mon and dad will allow it.

”

I’d been keeping tabs on Caden’s movements all these years, well aware of all the things he’d been doing

behind the scenes.

I’d waited so long.

Now, it was time to carry out the final part of my plan.
