My lip raises. “Hey!” I snarl. “I didn’t do anything wrong! Don’t act like your my dad suddenly, I tol you—”

He reaches behind him and slams the envelope onto the table. It skids toward me.

Dominic’s crest glares up from the paper.

“You think I wouldn’t find out?” he snarls. “You think I wouldn’t hear about you having dinner at an Alpha estate like some prized offering? Why didn’t you tell us they had chosen you! They want you as Luna and you just…kept that to yourself?!”

“I didn’t ask for that,” I fire back. “They invited me, I went to turn them down.”

“Turn them down?!” he shoots back. “Are you desulsional?! Do you know what this would do for our family?! You’re mother?!”

My fist curled over the document, tossing it back. “I’m aware. But it’s mine and Dominic’s choice. Besides, they can’t force me if I-”

“Oh, so now you understandpack politics now?” he cuts in. “Funny how that works when it benefits you.”

“It doesn’t benefit me!” My voice cracks despite myself. “I don’t want him. Listen to me! I don’t want any of this.”

His laugh is sharp and ugly. “Don’t insult me.”

“I’m not lying—”

“You are lying to everyone,” he roars, stepping into my space. “Had your sister thinking she had a chance when you were just undermining her! You’ve been lying to this family, to your mother, to me. Playing innocent while you let them parade you around like a future Luna.”

“I told you I rejected it!”

“You rejected what?” he snaps. “You either give this to your sister or stop screwing around with it! But now, now they give you everything, power, security, status, and after all your meddling your saying no?!”

“I don’t care!” I shout back. “I won’t be his Luna.”

His eyes darken.

“You don’t get to decide that.”

“Yes, I do.” I snarled. “And I am sick of everyone telling me what I can and can’t do.”

“No,” he says coldly. “You’re not hearing me. You don’t get this choice.”

He takes another step forward. “Watch your mouth.”
