The Luna Queen's Rebirth (Ellie and Dominic) novel Chapter 341

Chapter 341

“That’s it.” Vivian turned and left without another word. I watched her walk to her car before I shut the

door and locked it.

Once I was alone, I turned, setting the box down on the hallway table. I took a breath and set the knife beside it, then opened the lid with shaking hands.

Inside were my mother’s necklaces, the ones she wore every day. A few bracelets I’d given her over the years. And at the bottom was a stack of photos.

I picked up the top one. It was a picture of my mother and me from years ago, back when things were simpler. She was smiling, her arm around my shoulders, and I was young and awkward and smiling too.

My chest tightened.

I set the photo down and closed the box. I couldn’t look at this right now. Not yet.

Vivian’s POV

I got in my car and exhaled, letting my expression fall.

Well. That had gone better than I expected. Ellie looked like a wreck, but she’d said she had no intention of sticking around Dominic after the funeral. It was over. Finally over.

I reached into my purse and pulled out the letter Dominic had given me this morning.

He’d handed it to me before I left. He’d seemed so desperate to give it to her. He practically begged me to

deliver it.

I had taken the letter and promised I would.

But I hadn’t.

I unfolded the letter now and scanned the contents. It was exactly what I expected: pages and pages of apologies and explanations and desperate pleas for her to come back.

“Ellie, I know I hurt you. I know I made the wrong choices, over and over again. But I need you to understand that I was trying to save you both. I thought if I went with Vivian, the rogues would let you go. I thought I could fix it. I was wrong.”
