The Luna Queen's Rebirth (Ellie and Dominic) novel Chapter 61

Chapter 61

Vivian POV

Karina was the type of girl who would do anything for a but of attention. Especially from someone as cute and loved like me. She gossiping instead of doing anything meaningful. Her and that friend of hers, the one who existed primarily to nod.

But funny enough, she was exactly who I needed right now.

I hurried toward them, letting my boots click dramatically against the stone. When they turned, I made sure my expression was the very picture of breathless concern.

“Oh my gods-did you see?” I clutched my chest just enough to look delicate. “Ellie just left Dominic’s

room.”

Karina’s face twisted so fast I almost laughed.

“What?! Vivian-are you kidding me?” she snarled. “That little nobody—”

Her friend jumped in, voice getting shrill. “Ugh gods, at this hour? What a walk aof shame. She’s always crawling after him. It’s pathetic.”

I widened my eyes like a sympathetic little flower. “I know, right? I was just… shocked. I mean, Dominic deserves someone with standards.” (Me.) “But she just-slipped out like she owned the place.”

Karina practically vibrated with fury. “She thinks she’s special because she makes puppy eyes at every Alpha hoping something will stick. It’s embarrassing.”

Embarrassing for you, I thought sweetly. Because Dominic is going to end up with me…but, I could use this little crush.

I pressed a hand to my cheek, lowering my voice. “I just feel… helpless. Watching her manipulate her way into everything. Even the Healer Academy.”

That did it.

Karina bristled. “Ugh, gods, I saw her weasel her way in. She doesn’t belong there. She has zero talent.”

“Oh, well,” I said lightly, twirling a strand of hair, “but you’re a year ahead. You actually help some of the professors make lower year’s exams, don’t you?”

Karina blinked.

Her friend looked between us, confused.

I tilted my head, voice dripping innocence. “It must be sooo hard watching someone like Ellie skip right past rules and expectations. I mean, if she failed a major assessment, she wouldn’t even be allowed to stay, right?”

Karina’s breathing changed. A little sharper. A little darker.

Her friend still didn’t get it, but Karina did.

Her eyes narrowed with delicious, blooming malice.
