The Lycan Prince’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance) novel Chapter 134

Chapter 134

Kai

My eyes move from my sister to the girl sitting on the sofa.

To be honest, I knew Kara was always different. Even when we were children, she never showed interest in the young Lycans or the high-ranking he wolves that our parents tried to push her toward. She always said she didn’t want a mate because it would only tie her down to some egotistical male Lycan.

Now, seeing them like this, it all makes sense. My sister likes girls.

Honestly, I don’t have a problem with it. In fact, I like that she found what works for her and discovered her own sexuality. Bat our parents-especially my father-are a different story entirely. I can already see King Geo’s face turning purple with rage. He would see this as a defiance of the royal bloodline. He would punish her for this without a second thought.

We all stare at each other awkwardly. The girl has her head down, her face buried in her hands from sheer embarrassment. Lyra is standing right beside me, but she won’t look at me. She’s staring at the ceiling, her cheeks is flushed a deep pink. My guess is that she already knew about this before I did. They’ve been living together so I’m sure Kara must have told her at some point.

The girl finally looks up. She bows her head awkwardly toward me. “I’m… I’m so sorry, Your Highness. I’m sorry for ”

“It’s okay,” I interrupt her. My voice is calmer than I expected it to be. “I’m actually the one who should be sorry for not knocking.”

The girl looks up at me in total surprise. She looks like she was expecting me to yell at her or drag her out of the room by her hair. Kara, however, isn’t as relieved. She glares at me with her hands on her hips.

“Next time, I’m installing a lock on this door that locks only you outside, Kai,” she snaps.

I grin at her, feeling some of the tension leave my shoulders. “I’ll just break it down with my Lycan strength then, little sister.”

Kara sighs, shaking her head. Her expression softens immediately as she turns to her girl. “I’m sorry, Mia, but you have to go now. I’ll talk to you later. okay? We’re not done yet.”

To my surprise, Kara leans in and kisses Mia deeply. She doesn’t even care that Lyra and I are standing right there, watching the whole thing. It’s a bold move, a clear statement that she isn’t ashamed. After Mia runs out of the apartment and the door clicks shut, I turn to my sister.

“So when were you going to tell me about your relationship?” I ask.

Kara sighs, sinking back onto the sofa. She picks up a decorative pillow and hugs it to her chest. “I didn’t want to tell you because, well… I was scared you’d be upset, I thought you’d judge me for liking girls.”

I glare at her. This is the girl I’ve protected since the day she was born. I’ve fought her battles, kept her secrets, and shielded her from our father’s temper

more times than I can count.

“Do you really think me to be so narrow-minded, Kara?” I ask, stepping closer. “Do you really think so little of me?”

Kara’s face immediately brightens. Her eyes go wide with surprise and a sudden, shimmering happiness. “Are you really not upset with me?

I chuckle and reach out my fingers, pinching her cheek before pulling her into a brief hog. “Why would I be? You have the right to be with whoever the fuck

you want to be with. If she makes you happy, that’s all that matters to me.”

3:49 pm.

Chapter 134-

Kerg’s uyes fill with unshed tears, she hugs me back tightly, burying her face in my shirt. “Sometimes, you’re not a total monster.”

I chuckle at her words. She pulls away, wiping her eyes, and her gaze lands on Lyra. Lyra is staring at me with a weird expression on her soft, innocent face. She looks shocked, as if my reaction was the last thing she expected.

Why do they all think I’m such a tyrant?

“Because you are? Vlad rumbles in my mind.

‘Shut the fuck up, beast.’ I tell him. He just laughs at me.

a jumps up and grabs Lyra’s hands, swinging them back and forth. “Oh, Lyra! Congratulations on passing your second wolf assessment test! I knew you ild do it!”

ank you, Kara,” Lyra replies in a tiny voice.

We must celebrate somehow!” Kara squeals. Lyra tries to protest, shaking her head, but Kara isn’t having it. “I insist! We need to do something fun. Oh! That reminds me.”

Kara turns to look at both of us. “We have that dinner banquet at the palace tonight. The one that Kai and I have to attend. Lyra, I want you to come as my plus-one!”

The event tonight. Shit. I totally forgot about it in all the chaos of the testing and the discovery of the fox.

Lyra looks surprised, but I see a tiny flick of excitement in her eyes. She’s never seen the main palace. She’s only seen the darker parts of our world, so it’s expected that she’d be excited.

But I don’t want her anywhere near the King. Not now. Not when he’s already suspicious. Not when she’s carrying a secret that could get her killed. But I know my sister. Once she sets her mind on something, she’s like a dog with a bone.

“Um, okay!” Lyra says, looking at Kara. “I’d like to go as your plus-one. If that’s okay.”

Kara squeals happily and starts to plan out what they’ll wear.

“That’s not fucking happening,” I say. My voice is sharp, cutting through their excitement.

Lyra turns to glare at me. She pouts her lips, a small, adorable act of defiance that makes my heart skip a beat. She looks so beautiful when she’s annoyed with me. Suddenly, a rush of heat hits me. Blood shoots straight to my dick, and I have to shift my weight and adjust my stance slightly to hide the sudden erection.

Fuck my life.

“Oh, come on, Kai!” Kara groans, rolling her eyes. “It’s just one dinner event. Don’t you always bring Damon as your plus one too?”

“It’s not the same thing, Kara,” I snap. “The palace is dangerous right now. Father is in a foul mood.”

“Well, if Lyra won’t go, then I won’t go either,” Kara says, crossing her arms. She looks me dead in the eye, using the one weapon she knows works on me. “Please, brother. Please? It would mean so much to me to have her there. Don’t disappoint me.”

I look from my sister’s pleading face to Lyra. Lyra is still pouting, her blue eyes challenging me to say no again. I know I’m going to regret this. I know it’s a bad idea. But the thought of Lyra in a dress, walking through the palace halls… it does something to me.
