The Lycan Prinee’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance)
Chapter 186
Lyra
The world stops.
I can’t breathe. My eyes are locked on the floor, where Ryan head has rolled down just a few inches from my boots. Everyone is totally silent at first. Then,
the screaming starts.
It begins with a high–pitched wail from Daisy, and then it spreads like a wildfire through the hall. People run backward, knocking over chairs and tripping over each other in their haste to get out. The metallic scent of fresh blood fills the air, thick and cloying.
“He’s dead! He killed him!” someone screams from the back.
“The Prince! The Prince just killed him!” Another shouts.
People start running for the door. They don’t care about the Alpha or the Luna anymore. They just want to escape the monster standing in the center of the
room.
“SILENCE!”
Kai’s voice isn’t a human shout. It’s a roar that vibrates through the walls and rattles the windows. It’s filled with the power of his Lycan authority.
Everyone freezes. A woman who was halfway through a scream chokes on her breath. The men who were running for the exit stop in their tracks. No one
dares to move. No one dares to breathe.
Kai doesn’t even look at the crowd. He turns his head slowly, his eyes still glowing with that scary red light, and looks at my parents. They are huddling together near the pulpit, their faces pale and terrified.
“Since you couldn’t find the spine to punish the bastard who drugged your/daughter,” Kai says, his voice cold and sharp as a razor, “I have done you the
honors, Consider it a gift from the Crown.”
Luna Sarah begins to sob. Her whole body is trembling so hard I think she might collapse. She sinks to her knees and clasps her hands together in front of
her chest.
“Please, Your Highness,” she whimpers. “Please, show us mercy. We didn’t know. We never meant for this to happen! We were only trying to protect the
pack’s name!”
“By forcing her to mate with someone who almost violated her? Someone she didn’t want?” Kai asks. He takes a step toward her, and the Luna flinches so hard she almost falls down. “You have a strange way of protecting your blood, Luna.”
Kai ignores her cries and turns his attention to me. As he approaches, I feel a wave of heat rolling off him. He looks so powerful and also terrifyingly beautiful, that for a moment, even I am afraid. I have seen him angry before, but this is different. This is the King of the Monsters. He just murdered a man.
a man I have known since my childhood, without a single second of hesitation.
I don’t know how to feel. I was so anger at Ryan and I wanted him to suffer for what he did to me. But seeing him die like this… it’s a shock that goes
straight to my bones. I can’t believe he’s well and truly dead.
“Good riddance,‘ Wyndra’s voice echoes in my mind. She sounds satisfied, almost purring. ‘Our mate did the right thing. He slaughtered that pig exactly like he
deserved. I want him to do the same thing to your evil sister.‘

Chapter 186
“Don’t be so heartless, Wyn, ‘4 tell her. ‘And he is not our mate. We don’t have a mate, remember?
“He is our mate girl. He’s all ours,” Wyndra retorts. “Look at him, Lyra. He’s like a god.”
Kai stops in front of me. He reaches out with his hand that’s still stained with Ryan’s blood, and gently brushes a stray hair from my face. The contrast
between his violent actions and this tender gesture is enough to make my head spin.
