A week later

It’s been a whole week. Seven long freaking days of living in agony, sitting by the bedside and watching him sleep or be unconscious or whatever the fuck happened to him after he got stabbed by those demons, nearly dying.

Nearly dying, for me.

1 still can’t believe Kai almost got killed for me. He locked me up in the house to protect me while he and my friends fought for their life. While I was furious with him for protecting me against my will, Wyndra made me understand that what he did was the most selfless thing anyone would do. She told me that if the demons got their hands on me, they wouldn’t just kill me yet. They’d use me for my powers and Kai knows this, that’s why he’s been protecting me with his life and genuinely being over protective.

That’s when I realized how stupid I’d been, thinking he was overshadowing me and trying to control me. No he wasn’t, he just showed me it a thousand ways how much he loved me. I guess I just refused to see it, or I closed my eyes because I’d been burned by him in the past. But the past shouldn’t matter anymore. The present should.

And presently, looking at Kai’s gentle sleeping form for days has made me realize something that I should have come to terms with a long time ago. I love him so much it hurts. I’m absolutely and utterly in love with Kai Morningstar. He’s the love of my life.

He’s mine and I’m his. There’s no denying this anymore. I was so stupid to think there was any other choice. There isn’t. There is only him and me. And he needs to know that.

“Please…wake up..” my voice is a trembling whisper as I gently brush his hand with mine. “Wake up, so I can tell you how much I love you. I miss you. I miss your presence. I miss your… controlling attitude.” I giggle, and then choke on a sub, still holding on to his fingers.

“I miss looking into your deep green eyes. I miss bantering words with you and defying your every order. Please wake up so we can get right back to it.

Please, Kai.” I let my head fall forward into the crook of his shoulder as tears escape me, and I sob uncontrollably.

I should have been out there with them seven days ago, fighting. I’m just glad no one else got hurt. I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if any of my friends got seriously hurt or died because of me.

If I’d been there sooner, Kai wouldn’t have gotten stabbed. After trying my best to get out of the room, Wyndra suggested I check the drawers for a weapon and miraculously, I searched and found a gun. I wasted no time in shooting the door handle, causing the door to fly open.

And then when I’d gotten downstairs, I still can’t forget the feeling of terror when I saw Kai on the ground, kneeling with a sword plunged right into his stomach, blood oozing out of him like a tap. And then the demon was raising another sword, ready to cut Kai’s head off. I guess seeing him like that triggered Wyndra to come out of me. Before I knew what was happening, my fox came out and displayed powers that I still can’t believe are real

Wyndra destroyed every single one of those demons with her laser eyes. The only one that got away before I could kill him was the leader, lord Varieg whatever, the one whom I cut off his hand.

Immediately the whole dust settled, I rushed to Kai’s side and tried to heal him. I’d done everything that I did before, extracting the poison from his story with my healing powers, but Damon said his heart already stopped and would probably take some time to resuscitate.

I’ve tried to kickstart his heart, I’ve tried to speak with his beast Vlad, I’ve tried everything in my power, but Kai remains unconcious. Beathing, bot unconscious. The waiting and uncertainty is killing me I don’t know why he’s taking so much time to wake up,

Chapter 212

Has been up on living? Has he given up on me? No. I won’t let him refuse to. He has to come back to me. We need to talk and settle so many things. He needs to know what I feel for him.
