Chapter 86
Roman glares at me. The silence in the room is so tense that it feels like the air is being sucked out of it. He looks like he is about to start another round of arguing when Lyra speaks up, her voice calm but firm.
“Roman,” she calls him. He turns to her instantly. Im okay, really. You should go get some rest. You’re probably still recovering from… well, everything. You look tired.
Roman looks offended for a split second, probably because she is reminding him that I broke him, but he quickly masks it with a tight, fake smile.
“Right he says, nodding slowly. “I’ll see you later then, Lyra.”
He sends one last look of pure hatred my way before turning on his heel and walking out of the room. The door shuts with a quiet clísk.
I turn back to Lyra, expecting her to be relieved, but she is glaring at me again.
‘I’d appreciate it if you left too,” she says, pulling the covers up to her chin. “I want to get some sleep, and I can’t do that with you hovering over me like a hawk.”
I don’t move. Instead, I slowly lean down, bringing my face inches from hers. I watch as her eyes widen. I can hear the rapid, frantic beating of her heart in her ribs. I see the tiny goosebumps rise on the skin of her arms.
The feeling of satisfaction washes over me. I love that I affect her this much. Even when she is mad at me, even when she wants me gone, her body cannot lie. I’m not the only one being tortured by this… feeling.
“I’ll be back soon,” I whisper close to her lips. She swallows and looks away immediately.
I straighten up and walk toward the door, a hidden smile playing on my lips as I leave her alone in the the room.
Lyra
As soon as Prince Kai walks out, Rina steps out from behind the tall bookshelf where she was hiding. My heart is still beating fast with fear. I was so scared that Kai or Roman would find out she was in here the whole time.
Rina smooths out her dress and looks at me with a sneer. “Well, well,” she says, her voice dripping with venom. ‘It seems you have my mate and his brother wrapped around your witchy fingers, don’t you?”
I shake my head, trying to steady my breathing. “I don’t understand what you’re saying.”
She lets out a sharp, cold laugh.
“You’re very lucky you didn’t rat me out, Lyra. If you had, I would have made you regret it so much more than I already have.
I release a frustrated sigh and leap back against the pillows. I feel exhausted. “Please, just leave me alone now.”
I won’t leave until I’ve said what I came here to say,”
As I watch her, I silently wish I had just told Kai that his fiancée was in here bullying me. I hed to Kai and Roman when I told him I fell down by mistake. I didn’t.

Chapter 86
Immediately after my friends left, Rina somehow snuck into the room she dragged me out of bed while I was half-asleep and shoved me hard against the wall. The mument she heard Rat coming back, she threatened me. She told me if I dared to tell them she was here, I would regret it for the rest of my life. That’s the reason why I lied. And I also don’t want him to have problems with his mate because of me.
Rina steps closer to the bed and less down until her face is inches from mine. Her makeup is so perfect, not a single lash out of place, and her perfume is so heavy it makes my head swim.
“What did you do?” she whispers harshly. “What did a wolfless, rejected slave like you do to make these princes so interested?”
I look at her, seeing the insecurity hidden behind her perfect mask. I find myself smiling at her. “Oh, Princess Rina. You’re pathetic if you think I actually have to do anything.
Rina’s face immediately twists in pure fury. Before I can even move, her hand flies out and grabs my neck in a death grip. She slams me back against the headboard, choking the air out of my lungs, I claw at her hand, trying to pry her fingers loose, but she is a high-level Lycan. She is far stronger than I am.
‘I didn’t want to kill you yet, Lyra fucking Diamond.” Rina hisses, her grip tightening until my vision starts to blur. But because you’re so rude, maybe I’ll just end your pathetic life right now. That way, I’ll finally have some peace.”
“Please… stop…” My hands tremble as I struggle to breathe.
But she doesn’t stop. She just squeezes harder. My lungs burn and the world starts to go dark at the edges.
Suddenly, a strange, foreign strength fills my entire body. It’s hot and electric, rushing through my veins like wildfire. I feel my eyes start to glow a bright
white.
Rina freezes, her eyes widening in genuine shock. “What the..?”
I raise my head, my voice sounding deeper and more powerful than it usually does. “ENOUGH!”
I push my hands forward, hitting Rina in the chest. A burst of energy from me throws her backward. She flies across the room and hits the wall with a crash,
sliding to the floor in a heap.
I stare at my trembling hands, my breath coming rushed gasps.
What did I just do?

You showed her who’s boss!! It’s about time you started throwing people’s weight around. Kai’s sister looks like she’s gonna betray you too because she’s so jealous.

The Lycan Prinee’s Wolfless Slave (Academy Romance)
Chapter 87
Lyra
I stare at my reflection in the mirror, feeling both shy and confident at the same time. Tonight, I feel very beautiful and elegant. The wolf event is happening in a few minutes. I’m nervous as hell because this is the first event I’m attending at Krypton Academy.
At first, I didn’t have anything proper to wear since Amara and Isolde told me that everyone had to dress elegantly. Kara was already planning to give me one of dresses when I received a present from guess who? The grumpy rown Prince himself.
I stare at the red, floor length shimmery gown that Kai sent me earlier. The fabric is so soft and unique in a way that makes my slim but curvy figure stand out. The front is a V-neck that shows a part of my cleavage and comes down to reveal the little skin of my stomach. Then it dips around my waist and is perfectly pleated around my hips, giving me a classy and simple vibe. Then my silver hair is styled to the side and I made sure to add a bit of eye makeup and blush to my cheeks. My lips are moist with lip gloss. And my shoes, well let’s just say Kara’s shoes are perfect. Not too high, not too low.
I suck in a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves and excitement as I stare at myself, but it’s practically impossible. The truth is I’m very scared to see Kai Tonight after he sent me a very beautiful dress with a note that said ‘Consider it a get well soon gift. From K.M’
I stare at my blue eyes in the mirror and remember the way they felt yesterday. They weren’t just blue, they were glowing with a white light that felt like pure electricity. Even though what I did scared me shitless, it was still so satisfying to see the look on Rina’s face. For the first time, she wasn t the predator, she was the one who looked scared and shocked after I hit her with that burst of energy. She had rushed to her feet and ran out without another word, leaving me alone in the hospital room to wonder how the hell I did that.
For like a few minutes, my eyes continued to glow. I’m grateful my friends or Kai didn’t come back during that time because what would I have told them? I can’t tell them that I have some kind of weird ability.
I’ve tried reaching out to Wyndra to get an explanation since yesterday, but she’s been completely silent. Ever since Salva stabbed me with that Hawthorn vine, her presence in my mind has been absent. It’s like the poison attacked her spirit even more than it attacked my body. I really hope she’s fine and that she’ll talk to me again very soon. I feel lonely without her voice in my head all the time. She’s like an anchor for me. Something that keeps me grounded.
While she’s gone, I’ve decided that I’m going to spend as much time as possible in the Academy library. I need to find out everything I can about this “Phoenix” thing the voice in my dream mentioned. I need to know what the hell I am and why my body is reacting this way.
I’m pulled out of my thoughts by a soft knock on the door.
“Come in,” I say, smoothing down the red fabric of my gown.
Kara peeps her head in, her eyes widening the moment she spots me. She walks in and lets out a low whistle with a huge smile on her face. “Wow, Lyra Diamond. You look like a vengeful Goddess. If my brother wasn’t already obsessed with you, he definitely will be now.”
I laugh, feeling my cheeks heat up at her comment. Kara needs to stop teasing me about her annoying brother. I take a moment to look at her.
“You look incredible, Kara. Seriously.”
