The Mad Guardian novel Chapter 10

Chapter 10: Stunning Beauty

Seeing Jiang Chuan agree, Qiu Weiming smiled widely and said, “Xiaochuan, I really admire you. And as the Divine King, ranked first on the divine list, I have confidence in you, you will surely win over that girl’s heart, Qianyu.”

“Hehe!”

Jiang Chuan let out a dry laugh.

Immediately afterward, Qiu Weiming stood up, checked the time, gently patted Jiang Chuan on the shoulder, and said, “It’s getting late, you should head back early too. In the next couple of days, I’ll talk to Qianyu.”

“Mmm!” Jiang Chuan nodded.

Qiu Weiming didn’t say anything more and walked slowly towards the outside of the bar with his bodyguards. But after taking a couple of steps, he suddenly stopped as if remembering something. He retrieved an envelope from his pocket, turned around, and placed it in front of Jiang Chuan, saying, “This is something your grandfather wanted me to give you. And this one too.”

Then he placed a jade pendant on top of the envelope.

After Qiu Weiming left, Jiang Chuan sat alone at the bar, staring at the envelope and jade pendant placed before him. He slowly reached out and picked up both items.

This jade pendant was an ancient piece, plain and unremarkable, but inside it gleamed a crimson hue, red like a sun, radiating brilliant light.

Frowning slightly, Jiang Chuan felt a sense of déjà vu with this jade pendant. It took him a while to recall, he had once seen an identical jade pendant with Qiu Qianyu.

However, the inside of Qiu Qianyu’s pendant was different; this one bore a sun, while Qiu Qianyu’s had a crescent moon.

After looking at it for a long time, Jiang Chuan carefully put the jade pendant away and opened the envelope, only to find it contained not a letter, but a photo, depicting a kind, elderly man laughing joyfully.

“Grandfather.” Jiang Chuan murmured, his eyes slightly moist: “Why?”

Ten years ago, despite his protests, his grandfather insisted on sending him to the Devil’s Training Camp in Africa. There, he experienced the law of the jungle, lingering between life and death with hands stained by blood, losing count of how many people he killed to survive.

Once, he hated, he resented. But a decade had passed, and his grandfather was now gone. His hatred dissipated, his resentment faded, leaving only endless longing.

“Alone?”
