The Mafia Dons Pet (Masha and Luciano) novel Chapter 20

Chapter 20: The Heat. *Masha*

The subway station had been pure chaos. Bodies pressed against mine, pushing and pulling.

My camera bag bumped against my hip as I tried to force my way through the crowd, but before I knew what was

happening, I’d lost Matt and Tyler, and I was being pushed into a subway.

Wrong train!someone shouted behind me, and panic bubbled up in my chest. Wrong train? I stumbled into the subway car, unable to fight the flow of people, the doors snapping shut like a trap.

I clutched the pole, wideeyed and disoriented, without a clue where this subway train was headed.

It felt like hours had passed when I finally stepped off.

I spent another hour trying to make it back to my apartment. And the moment I walked into the apartment building, Matt and Tyler were there, waiting like storm clouds about to break. Where the hell have you been?Matt barked, glaring at me like I was the cause of all his problems.

Tyler wasn’t far behind, his jaw tight with anger. We told you to stay close. You can’t just vanish like that!

What were they yelling at me for? I clutched my bag tighter, meeting their anger with a steady glare of my own.

Vanish? It’s not my fault you two can’t keep up. Maybe try actually doing your job next time.

Their expressions darkened, but I didn’t care. My heart was still racing and my patience had evaporated somewhere between the wrong subway and the suffocating crowd.

I brushed past them and headed upstairs toward my apartment. If they had a problem, they could take it up with Luciano, but not with me.

At least I’d managed to get the footage I needed. If I hadn’t today would have been a complete waste.

By the time I reached my apartment, all I could think about was taking a shower and washing the chaos of the day off me.

Oh, rightmy phone. It was dead.

I’d need to charge it so I could call Luciano and explain. Otherwise, knowing him, I’d be on the chopping block tomorrow at lunch.

I unlocked the door, and stepped inside, making sure to lock it

behind me.

My bag hit the table with a soft this as I rumaged through it, pulling out my dead phone. With a sigh, I grabbed the charger, plugged it in and set the phone down.

A stray strand of hair fell into my face, and I brushed it away absentmindedly, my mind already spinning with excuses for Luciano.

I hesitated before heading to the bathroom, wondering if I should wait for a few minutes for my phone to power up. Maybe I should call Luciano first, just to let him know I was home before his imagination ran wild.

But I figured Matt or Tyler would have already told Luciano I was home by now. There was no reason for him to worry.

With that, I pushed my bathroom door open. I turned the shower on, the steam rising immediately, and stepped under the stream of water.

I exhaled, letting the tension seep out of my muscles. What a crazy day.

First, Mike hadn’t taken it well when I canceled our date.I could still hear the frustration in his voice when I broke the news to him.

Mike didn’t take rejection lightly, and I could already imagine the silent treatment or subtle digs waiting for me at school on Monday.

The day had been bad enough, but it only got worse when I got shoved into the wrong train in the chaos of the subway.

By the time I finally stumbled through my front door, my phone was dead, and I knew Luciano would be fuming.

Without a way to reach me, he was probably already imagining ten different ways to kill me.

I walked out of the shower, wrapped myself in a towel, and padded into the bedroom, letting my hair drip down my back. I was halfway to the dresser when somethingno, someone grabbed me. A hand shot out from nowhere, snatching me up. Before I could scream, I was slammed onto the bed, the impact knocking the air from my lungs. Panic kicked in, and I fought back, twisting and clawing at my attacker.

My legs flailed, my nails scraped skin, but it was useless. He was too strong.

Let go!I hissed, thrashing against his grip, but he only yanked my hair back, forcing my head to tilt at a painful anglé.

Next thing I knew, a cold metal pressed against my temple. I froze.

My heart thundered in my chest as the barrel of the gun bit

into my skin.

He pressed me down, his weight pinning me down to the bed and my breath caught in my chest.

I struggled beneath him, but it was useless. I was beginning to think that maybe this was how it would end for me, in my own bloody apartment.

Then, my attacker spoke.

Three seconds Masha, the familiar voice taunted, his tone sharp and mocking.

Luciano. That’s all it took for me to find you. Imagine how easily my enemies would have done the same.

My head snapped toward him. Relief and anger flooded through me. I thought I was going to die. What sort of sick lesson was he trying to teach me?

This isn’t my fault!I shot back, twisting under him, trying to break free. His grip didn’t loosen, but I managed to turn to face him.

Sure enough, he was glaring at me with those intense dark eyes of his.

The towel covering me shifted, then slipped away completely with my movement. Heat flooded my cheeks as I realized my current state, but he didn’t seem to cáreor notice.

The gun still remained pressed against my skin, even as he roared, Do you know what I’ve been through? I’ve been searching everywhere for you for three hours, Masha. Three hours!

Do you have any idea what went through my mind? His voice cracked, and that was when I realized how worried he’d been.

I swallowed hard, my voice trembling as I tried to explain. I was shoved onto the wrong train. My phone died. I

You should’ve stayed close to the guard!he barked, cutting me off.

I tried to, but

How can I trust you, when you can’t do as you’re told?he cut me off again.

It was clear he wasn’t going to listen to me. And I could already feel myself getting angry all over again.

But before I could process my emotions, I became acutely aware of him. I was aware of how the heat from his body seeped into mine.

I felt his weight pressing me into the mattress on every inch of me. This entire situation was both infuriating and sexual.

I swallowed hard, pushing my body into his. What now, Luciano? Are you going to punish me?

Chapter 20: The Heat.

His breath hitched, rough and ragged, brushing against my ear. It was clear what we both wanted to come out of thi, and the desire I felt gave me all the courage I needed to push his

buttons.

What’s it going to be?I pushed further, my tone daring. Do you want to fuck me to teach me a lesson? Or are you just going to shoot me and get it over with?

His body stiffened against mine, and for a moment, the air seemed to vibrate with the intensity of his fury. His hand moved roughly, trailing over my arm.

You’re playing a dangerous game,he growled, his voice low and unsteady, like he was fighting himself more than me.

The heat from his body seeped through his clothes, the towel, and into my skin. Every fiber of me came alive with tingles, with awareness, with need.

The strange thing was, I wanted him to decide, I wanted him to punish .

His touch burned against me, caressing my skin as if he was testing to see if I’d back down.

My mind screamed that I should, but my body betrayed me. I cráved the release.

God help me, but even though this feeling clashed with my dark past, I couldn’t help myself.

I wanted it all.
