The Mafia Lord's Secret Lover (Evelyn) novel Chapter 201

Chapter 201: Enough!

Lisa opened her door first, scanning the area with sharp eyes before stepping out.

"Ma’am..." Lisa politely said as she helped Evelyn out of the car.

"Thank you, Lisa..."

Evelyn tried to maintain her calm as she approached the door.

However, the moment she placed her hand on the doorbell, a strange chill crawled up her spine.

Her hand paused before hitting the bell as she took a deep breath, forcing her nerves to settle.

Behind her, Ryan stood near the car, still watching her closely.

The wind picked up, rustling the leaves around the driveway, and for a fleeting moment, the silence was deafening.

And then...

A sharp noise came from inside the house. It sounded like something crashing to the floor, followed by a muffled scream.

Evelyn froze.

Lisa’s hand immediately went to her concealed weapon, waiting for Evelyn’s command.

Evelyn’s heart slammed in her chest, but she steadied herself, her voice low and resolute. "Stay behind me, Lisa. Cover my six."

She didn’t have time to ring the bell; she just pushed open the door, with the hinges groaning as it swung wide.

The once elegant foyer was dimly lit, the air heavy with tension.

And somewhere deeper inside, the sound of her sister’s screams isn’t because she’s in pain but because she’s yelling at William Walters.

Evelyn stopped just before reaching the living room. She froze, her instincts warning her to stay quiet. Whatever was happening inside wasn’t just another argument; it was chaos.

Then she heard it.

"Have you lost your mind?" Stella’s voice cracked with emotion, high-pitched and trembling.

Evelyn’s heart sank. Her little sister’s tone was filled with anger and fear, and it made her blood boil.

"How could you use me and my mom to get what you want? How could you be this evil?" Stella’s voice rose again, now shaking with barely restrained tears.

Evelyn’s fingers curled into fists. She could almost picture her sister standing there, face flushed and eyes glistening, confronting the man who should have protected her.

"Stella Walters! Don’t try to provoke me!" William Walters’ voice thundered through the room, cold and sharp. "I won’t hesitate to kick you out like I kicked your sister out of this family. Do you want that too?"

Evelyn’s breath catches in her throat.

The sound of her father’s voice, so filled with evil, struck her like a blow.

How could he still speak like that? How could he be so blinded by his pride and bitterness?

Alicia’s voice broke through, trembling with disbelief and anger. "William, you are evil! She’s your daughter, and you want to throw her out, too? Are you insane?"

"Enough, Alice!" William barked. "I’m not done with this spoiled child of yours. Don’t interfere, or your turn will come next."

The room fell silent for a few seconds after that.

She cleared her throat, loud enough to draw every pair of eyes toward her.

The moment William Walters turned his head toward her, the temperature in the room seemed to drop below zero.

His expression darkened, shock flickering briefly before it hardened into anger.

Stella’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Sister Eve?!" she gasped. "What are you doing here? Why are you here? You can’t come here, sis..." Her voice trembled with fear.

Alicia covered her mouth, her eyes filling with tears. "Oh my God... Eve..." she said while shaking her head. Her eyes and gaze seemed to signal for Evelyn to run away from this place.

Evelyn was aware of it, but her attention was locked on one person only, William Walters.

She took a step forward, her heels clicking sharply against the marble floor, and clapped her hands slowly.

"Well, well," she said playfully, "You really have lost your mind, William Walters."

Her words caused William Walters to stiffen, his eyes narrowing dangerously.

Evelyn didn’t even react to his dangerous glare; instead, she met it with a cold and calm stare.

"I used to think you were still a reasonable person and wouldn’t sink lower than kicking your daughter out of the house for loving the man you hated. But now, seeing you threaten to hurt your wife and child just to hurt me? You’ve proven me wrong. You are an utter piece of shit person."

Her sharp words echo through the cold room, causing William Walters’ expression to turn somber.

"Evelyn Walters!" William spat, his voice sharp. "You dare speak like that after everything you’ve done?"

"Done?" Evelyn laughed softly, her voice trembling with restrained fury.
