When Zachary rushed to Isaac’s office, his hair was in disarray, and his body exuded a mix of alcohol and perfume. There were even a few bright and charming lipstick marks on his face.
Upon seeing Charlie, he hurriedly smiled apologetically and asked, “Master Wade, are you looking for me?”
Charlie nodded and asked, “Did you enjoy drinking last night?”
Zachary wiped his mouth, grinned, and said, “Master Wade, I drank quite well last night!”
Charlie smiled slightly and said, “Since you drank well, it’s time for you to get to work in the afternoon.”
Zachary stood up straight immediately and inquired respectfully, “Master Wade, what do you want me to do? Just give me your orders!”
Charlie hummed in response and asked, “Zachary, did you come back with the other jade ring?”
Zachary immediately said, “Yes. I already got it back! Last night, I personally put it in the safe in the room while I was still a bit sober!”
Charlie nodded and said, “That’s great. You should go back and freshen up now, but remember, just wash your face and brush your teeth. Don't take a shower. After freshening up, bring the jade ring to me and then go to Antique Street to set up your stall. The old man who bought things from you yesterday has been waiting for you all morning.”
Zachary suddenly regained his energy and asked, “Oh! Master Wade, that old customer went to Antique Street again? Could he be coming to return the goods to me?”
Charlie smiled and said, “How can that be possible? He still wants to buy more things from you. After meeting him later, tell him that your previous supplier is not ready to bring out all the goods for the time being. However, if he can show some sincerity, you can try to negotiate on his behalf.”
Zachary hurriedly asked, “Master Wade, how much is considered sincere?”
Under the scorching sun, the flow of customers in Antique Street was not very large.
Mr. Chardon was still pacing back and forth on the street, his eyes scanning various stalls without stopping. A vendor could not stand it any longer and questioned, “Old man, you've been wandering around back and forth all morning. My eyes are getting dizzy. Can’t you find a place to sit for a while since it’s such a hot day? Otherwise, I'll give you a dollar so you can go buy a popsicle at the east end.”
Mr. Chardon glared at him and said coldly, “I will walk around as much as I want to. What does it have to do with you? I’ll destroy you if you keep talking nonsense!”
The vendor was angered to the core and mumbled, “Damn it! You’re really an old fool who doesn’t know any better.”
Mr. Chardon clenched his fists in anger upon hearing the vendor swear profusely at him.
At this moment, the only thought in his mind was to use the piece of Thunderstrike wood in his pocket that could summon heavenly thunder to kill this kid on the spot.
